Because they were short until everyone had nearly lined up, then the chains moved. They snapped it the moment the chains hit, STL had no time to challenge it.

Wow... I missed that part.
Which brings me back to the point of poor officiating by this crew. Not that the Rams would've done anything with the ball, they've been fricking it up all night.
