10 of 20 quarters this year they have been absolutely nonexistent. They struggle to move the ball for long stretches. The passing game has been anemic for Saints standards. It's almost like our receivers were non-existent Sunday. You could argue that the offense has been pathetic for four of five games this year.

Thankfully they've got a defense creating turnovers and giving them short fields to disguise how bad they've really been. Throw in garbage time stats and TDs and it's really hidden (Minnesota, New England).

Before the idiot comes in and says they scored 52 yesterday, no they did not. I'm sure they will figure it out but 5 games is a large enough sample size to be concerned. I'm sure the stats are fine after the 52 burger, but if you watch the games you know how inefficient they've been.

yep, people talked about defense all the time, its the offense that needs to get better and more efficient. Better line/protection/ snead back... i think they will be fine.

Good thing we've got Morstead smashing shite this season again. Nice to have a healthy punter doing punty things.

Up until the midpoint of the 3rd quarter, they played a great game. With the big lead they let off the gas and tried to milk the clock. The offense isn't anything to really worry about, especially if we stay committed to running the ball.

Beginning to think you are Breesus' not-so-alter ego.

They've basically taken a half off every week. That's not acceptable. You really are one of those ppl who can't force himself to blame the offense but the truth is this isn't the Brees/Payton offense we worshiped from 08-13 and it's not even close.

Yeah, like the one he booted on the first possession that resulted in our first points thanks to the best D in the L.
Or, like the one he placed in the corner and was muffed, returned to the 1 and resulted in an eventual TD by the best D in the L again.

You may sit down.

Actually a pretty eye opening post.

Currently bending the knee to Morestead.

Nobody is saying it is.

Both offense and defense had rough starts to the season, and both are coming around. Brees is still Brees and can still move the ball. Getting rid of AP is going to go a long ways in re-establishing the identity of the offense. That was a big distraction and wasn't doing anybody any favors.

The defense is playing amazing and I love watching it. But I'm not going to shite on the offense, especially since they've had to carry the sorry arse defense for years, having to pretty much score on every drive to stay in the game.

We're going to get a complete game before long, I know it.

Also, lets not pretend the defense was lights out Sunday. Still room for improvement.

Offensive Line was down two starting tackles. Still down one and I am willing to bet the other is not fully healthy. The offense will be ok once the line Gels/gets healthier.

So.......that’s on the punter?

He had the returner running backwards and against the sideline

That’s literally the best that can be asked for....the coverage blew it

FIFY

Offense looked good/great when Armstead was in the game. Once they took him out and move Klemente into he line-up, we were struggling to do anything. Back against the wall, Armstead comes back and the offense starts moving the ball.

Chad makes hating Morstead a hobby like some people would do with model building.

Grain of salt.

A) He completely out kicked the coverage
B) He was also a part of the failed coverage
C) I'll give you a minute to find Thommy's Name

D) Also shows the value of punters in the league, the difference in 7th ranked Joe Blow and 22nd ranked Joe Leg Blow is literally less than a 2 yard difference. Mind numbingly dumb wasteful money spent with the offense we've had over the years.

the difference between #1 and Morestead is a whopping 6.9 yards. You are just reaching now

Hardly. You are making the crux of my argument.

Oh I fully understand the crux of your argument. I also don't think his 4.5 mil cap hit is crippling the team.

Massive oline depth and injury problems tend to hamstring an offense. Nothing new. Never addressed. Carry on.

Lots of truth to the OP, but we're also spoiled when it comes to offense and appreciative of anything we can get defensively. So, while I largely agree, some of what it is going on could be slaying the fatted calf for the prodigal son.

Never addressed??? This post confirms my belief that you are disabled. Yesterday's starting O-Line was easily one of the best in the league
