Allegation is that his wife's injuries were actually from bullets fired by Smith. Would explain why the other shooter wanted to testify before the grand jury. LINK

He's relying on what others told him. Would mean there was a cover-up orchestrated by the former NOPD detective. Would get Hayes out of jail and probably lead to charges against others. Unreal.

Hold your horses. Let's see what comes out of the grand jury. This is the kind of stuff that defense firms "leak" in order to increase confusion, reasonable doubt, disinformation, etc.

Just sit back and let it all unfold.

I don't know why you keep laughing at that. It was perfectly reasonable at the time.

Only if you ignore What happened after. It was never in doubt. Ever.

Lol ok chad.

The guy said nothing incriminating in regards to smith, despite the bad decisions that led up to his death. Again I wouldn't expect him to.

Seems like this would take 30 seconds to confirm.

It makes sense in terms of the defense lawyer wanting his client to testify before grand jury. Usually, a lawyer never wants his suspect/client to do so.

That's the thing. It should be. Surely, the Smith's attorney knows this so him going up there and saying Hayes shot her means either he lied or she lied which would be so so dumb.

The Smith's lawyer has zero to do with the criminal case. Only ones that matter are Fuller (Hayes' lawyer) and the DA. Lawyer who spoke at the presser on behalf of Smith family is a corporate lawyer - does not handle criminal.

One of the men Smith had been eating with just before his killing, Reserve Police Officer Billy Ceravolo, has now hired a lawyer. That comes amid allegations he helped put Smith's gun back in the car after the shooting. Investigators want to know if he helped cover up the truth. The retired NOPD captain has since been stripped of his reserve status with the department. Federal investigators are reportedly also interested in the allegations of a cover up. The Smith family lawyer has insisted that at no time during the confrontation did Will Smith ever brandish or carry a firearm on his person. Attorney Peter Thomson said it was Hayes who shot Racquel Smith before he shot Will Smith.
