I never claimed (or meant to imply) Nnamdi was garbage. I don't think his career is over and there is a chance he could regain some of the form he lost if he's in the right situation. I just want people to realize that he has not been performing anywhere near the level that he used to and whenever you are bringing someone in, you have to ask who is going to be replaced.
In this case, it's hard to imagine the team could afford to keep 4 corners while paying them like starters. So it's a reasonable assumption that Greer would be the odd man out, and I think that's a significant risk if so.
I do think confidence plays a big factor at corner and Nnamdi certainly seems to have lost his, but going back to Ryan and a familiar system could help him recover from the past few years. If he signs, I'm going to hope for the best. I just think some have been over-optimistic/zealous and based on the last few years, I am not confident that he would provide an upgrade over Greer. The Lewis signing should significantly help the secondary and because of that, I would rather see them spend resources on the pass rush/left tackle as opposed to taking a chance on Nnamdi.
Of course I do not know what there plans are for him or what the numbers look like. If they could get him at a bargain rate or with an incentive laden contract, then bring him on. If so, I just hope they leave Greer in the mix and let everyone compete for the job.

I can agree with what you're saying here. I agree he isn't what he used to be. Maybe I just don't have the same confidence in Greer that you do and believe that he would be an upgrade. It's all a matter of opinion and he could come in and just suck Jason David style.... if that's possible I give!

Yeah he had a couple shite years in Philly... But it was a completely different coverage scheme and their WHOLE defense sucked. He may be slightly losing athletic ability to Father Time, but I think (if he signs) he plays much better this year than the last two back in Ryan's D
