1. New Orleans Saints
Sean Payton had only five draft picks to work with this year, so a strong UDFA class was a must. The Saints found two potential starters in guards Landon Turner and Avery Young (who could end up at tackle eventually). Offensive tackle Ryker Mathews and centers Jack Allen and Marcus Henry also have NFL futures. Getting receiver Michael Thomas in the second round was a steal, and either Jordan Williams (tough possession receiver) or Jared Dangerfield (taller downfield threat) could make the roster. Depth was needed at defensive back, so picking up De'Vante Harris, Ken Crawley, Trae Elston and Michael Caputo was a haul. Although D.J. Pettway didn't play much at Alabama, his skill set is worth a look.

this is truly a prize. with mid late rounds of draft being such a crap shoot and the UDFA's are becoming increasingly important and playing more vital roles in the NFL, when you land a great UDFA class, your draft is instantly that much more successful.

I was just posting this. I knew it was a good group when first reviewing their profiles. Three O-linemen with 5th Rd grades and peeps complaining that one wasn't drafted

Perceptions are funny.

If we had drafted any of those guys in the middle rounds, people would have considered this a better draft.

But because we got them in UDFA, its not as good a class. Funny stuff.

When it comes to UDFA's, I feel like these guys know what they're doing.

Didn't Dangerfield torch LSU a few times last year?

Ill say best draft since the 06 haul. This class is loaded top to bottom and makes my pants shrink.

Every pick was a good player and our UDFA haul made up for not addressing OL. Cant wait for TC/Preseason this year.

I still can't understand why the Saint's did not draft Collins in a late round last year. They had to know that the 2 guards they have were not up to par.

Time will tell. When they hit the field. Our current starting guards were both UDFA's. Senio got beat like a drum last year. He could improve though.

Collins was a UDFA.

Cowboys got lucky with a very good one.

I look forward to the competition they will bring upon themselves. Seems like it'll be good for the OL overall.

I guarantee you the Saints attempted to sign him as an UDFA.

How many years will it take for Collins to not be brought up in any thread related to the draft?
