Alt and the Penn State kid have generally been the 1st OL off the board but that seems to be changing. I was secretly hoping if we didn’t go after our future QB like we should be doing that we would get lucky and have Latham fall into our lap at 14. He’s huge and played RT at Alabama but I think he’s good enough to be a franchise LT and would step in day 1 for the Saints there if Ram doesn’t retire. That being said if those top 3 are off the board you have to look at a playmaker like Brian Thomas Jr. or a disruptive DL like either of the Texas DT while maybe getting lucky and getting someone like the Duke LT in 2nd.

His pass rush pressure numbers were good but his size gives me pause.

Change that 2nd round pick to someone like T’Vondre Sweat or Braden Fiske to pair with Bryan Breese at DT for the next 4-5 years and I can get behind taking the Oregon State RT at 14. Worst case he kicks inside and is a really good guard but he could be Ramcyzk’s heir apparent. Hopefully Penning can take the LG spot and run with it now that he won’t have to slide his feet like he had to do against speed rushers at LT. He can use his nasty streak and strength to at least be a a good run blocking guard.

As an Alabama fan I disagree.

He's fricking huge and not quick enough to play LT.

Pros for JC - stud out of HS, started from day 1 at top school against top SEC comp. big , strong
Cons - not super fluid, but if he didn't work at LT, he would be solid for years at RT with no issues. but do you draft a RT that high?
Saints can use both spots.

If you bring Peat back, maybe you make a play somewhere else in the first, maybe trade down to get picks, and grab another linemen in the second.

Yeah, I would worry about drafting a guy who played right tackle on college and planning to move him to left tackle as a pro.

Can't focus on one play that started with a bad snap.

He’s one of the few that I’d be pissed about if we drafted.

Recent Alabama OTs have generally been a let down in the league.

As I said on @nflnetwork just now, a GM told me this morning this is the best OL group he's ever seen at the Combine.
