They say this isn't speculation. However, no teams have officially revealed their hand. So, for now, it's partially speculation.

Or the fact that we have many positions of need and keys players are getting older by the day so having more picks for us to get younger seems more valuable that having half of our cap tied up with 3 players!

shiny "new toys"

fantasy vs reality

Not that i am against the right deal, but im not going to celebrate it. It's a shame we have the money to sign the best offensive weapon in our team's history.

Byrd is a free agent, there's no trading for him.

"At this point I’m definitely keeping all my options open," said Byrd. "See whatever happens in free agency. The lines of communication are open with them as well. So no door is shut." GM Doug Whaley said Monday that the Bills also haven't shut the door on Byrd. Byrd will test the market when the free agency negotiating period opens this weekend and would have to be blown away to re-sign with the Bills before then. He'll likely become the league's highest paid safety

I don't think it's hard to see that the Saint's window is closing with Brees at QB. This year and maybe next.

Who knows how Graham is going to perform once he gets paid. Would he have let the PF cause him to sit out games if he wasn't in a contract year last year? The injury was obviously hurting him, he sometimes runs routes and sometimes lolligags around. I think the Saints will weigh the value of Graham for x amount of money vs 2 first round picks.

One thing we know about Brees: He's going to make whatever receiver he's throwing to look good. Why not replace Graham with a Amaro in the 2nd round?

Like at receiver? Our team wouldnt have been shite last year without Jimmy Graham.

most of our problems stem from not drafting well, but you want to put all our marbles in that bucket?

Our team isnt bad off to where we trade our best player on offense so that we can fill in these other holes that you have made up

Seems like some of you guys are forgetting the way this works.. It is not a trade for the two 1s. If Jimmy/his agent agree to a deal with another team, we HAVE to match it or he is gone and we receive two 1s from that team. That's it. It's not like we can accept or decline. It's not a trade.

so, the word is teams are preparing offers, but no one knows which teams?--------sounds like the Jimmy Graham camp putting false or exaggerated info out there to try and force the saints to make a move

Meh. I'd rather see a disgruntled JG playing this year in NO.

they can work out a deal. if a team doesnt want to give up two 1's, and the saints can find some common ground, they can still get a deal done.

Jimmy makes jimmy look good. Brees puts the ball up there and jimmy gets it, taking some bone crushing hits.

The pussy label idiots put on him is absurd. He plays through pain and concussions

I know we are ABLE to make a trade, but the whole "two first round picks" thing is a whole different game. If a team wants to take him for two firsts, and he accepts the deal (and we don't match it), that's it... Right?

I guess in that situation we would still have the chance to talk to the team because I'm sure they'd try to do a trade for less first.

Is there a deadline for how long we have to counter their offer for him?

nah, I like the way Brandt worded it HERE-

First, no team is going to offer two first-round draft choices for Graham; the Saints would shut down Bourbon Street with a party if someone actually did.
