He needs to show the downfield game that AJ has.

i agree. I think that's more how we use him vs him lacking any speed to do so. He's had some downfield grabs in preseason and the Falcons game though

Disagree on AJ Green. Doesn't have same size or speed. He has similar hands and he seems to be very technical and somewhat savvy in his routes. Gonna be a really good receiver.

He's a very good possession receiver who compliments other WR on team. Great hands.

2017 Draft:
need quality OG and OG/OT with 2 DL added......all early rounds. Draft RB in late round and get 2 or 3 UDFA RB .....hope to get lucky.

2018 DRAFT:
get QB in free agency and draft someone.
Pissing away all those picks through the years has put us in this position.

Green isn't much faster if at all. AJ Green ran 4.48 at combine. Thomas ran 4.47 at his pro day and 4.57 at the combine. I'm not sure what to make of the pro day 40 times though

Pro Day 40s are almost always faster.

This couldn't be more incorrect lol. Michael Thomas catches the ball away from his body and AJ has had a bad case of the drops over the years because he tends to bring the ball in with his body most of the time. Anquan Boldin is a very good comparison like one of the other posters have stated.

He's a completely different kind of receiver. There is no comparison.

lolwut

A.J. Green had 86 catches last year, only 2 drops. In 2014, 69 catches, again 2 drops. Props for being arrogant and completely wrong though.

This couldn't be more incorrect with the exception of Thomas using his hands. Do you watch Green on a potato? He's top 5 year in and out. He makes remarkable catches to boot.

A better comparison is Larry Fitzgerald, not AJ Green. 6'3".

MT ran a 4.43 at his pro day. Fitz ran a 4.45 at his.

They were both in the mid to upper 4.5s at the combine. Fitz is about 10lbs heavier but MT has the frame to add to it.

Fitz is known for his great hands and I think that MT is going to quickly develop that same reputation.

I think that MT's demeanor has shown that he can be a #1 receiver. He has been very impressive a rookie.

Finally, both grew up around the NFL, Fitzgerald as ball boy for the Vikings and Thomas with his uncle as an NFL WR.
