The irony to this is Keyshawn Johnson had a season in his prime where he was one of the top WRs in targets and receptions, but couldn't get in the endzone.
But at the same time, to call these his prime years is a little disingenuous. They should have been his prime years, but once he had 2 leg surgeries, with at least 1 other leg injury in between, within a year his prime years were far behind him.
Regarding his roster spot, the issue has always been because the way the team works the cap, they had to try to do everything to keep him around and hope for the best until the right time. Had MT not reworked his deal last offseason, I am not sure they would be able to walk away from him just yet.
