If we want to win this it will be with a 3 year deal with more guaranteed money than the rest.

I'd be more concerned about the length of the deal. I'd rather give him $5 million for 3 years than $4 for 4 or 5. He's not going to get any younger.

Length of the deal is irrelevant to the guaranteed amount. And that is what the players seek.

I see some real low ball offers in this thread that have zero chance.

Contract of a few free agent Rbs signed last year Jerick McKinnon: 4 yr 36 mil deal w/ 14.3 guaranteed last year. Dion Lewis: 4 yr 14.9 mil deal w/ 8.2 guaranteed Carlos Hyde: 3yr 15.2 mil deal w/ 8 mil guaranteed

Mark Ingram is about 3 years older than all of these guys, he'll turn 30 this season. That means something for RBs. No way he gets $5 mill a year. My bet is $3.5, but he may get $4 again for 2-3 years.

He means a good bit to our offense, but he's a RB. Im a fan of flipping cheap RB's if I could. I would start low and see if he bites, like 3 years/5M and gradually go up and see where we meet.

I agree with you. I’d rather keep him for just three years and pay a little more than keep him longer and pay him less

3 years $13.5 million with $7 million guaranteed. That’s $4.5 million per season which is more than fair for a 30 year old RB. Both sides would win with a deal like this.

He wants 5.5 per.. hearing the bucs are considering offering north of 6. If we dont bring him back Thomas likes Ajayi.

They will let him walk for 6 million per year but there’s no way Tampa will pay that. They only have $2 million in cap space after signing Donovan Smith to a long term deal today so they will be looking to go cheap. If we were to let Ingram walk we sure wouldn’t be paying any free agent RB more than what we offered him. We would probably just find a cheap RB in the middle rounds of the draft to play behind Kamara. Our offense needs Ingram as much for his pass blocking ability as we need his running. Both sides should have no problem getting a fair deal done soon. 3 years $13.5 million w/ $7 mil guaranteed. Ingram gets a small bump up from his last contract AAV and the Saints can minimize his cap hit this year to just $1-2 million if they wanted.

Do a trade now. Get the best we can & move on. He rushed for 645 and another 180 receiving. Is that a $5M performance ?
Clear the cap space now cause AK’s & MT’s contracts are not far away.

The #Jaguars have released RB Carlos Hyde, source said, a player they acquired via trade last year.

Let him go. Too expensive for 6-7 games of production

RB market will be saturated, I think we have a good chance of getting Ingram at an affordable rate
