I guess I can make a post about something positive. (I think)

Dude’s been absolutely killing it this year when he’s been available. What type of contract do you think we will give him? We absolutely have to retain him considering Cam is on his last leg, but are we going to feel obliged to give him top 10-15 DE money…?

They will pick up the 5th year option and he’ll play next year on a prove it deal.

yeah thats my line of thinking as well, but whenever we do have to make that call, he will be costly.

Edit: I dont think “prove it” is a good way to put it though. He has proved it all year.

No other option but to pay him. Cam is on his last leg and Granderson, Kpassognoa, and Turner haven’t proven to be able to carry the load.

Pay him and hope for the best

Yeah we will definitely resign him, but what type of contract do you guys think is reasonable for both parties?

Ingram was hurt all the time until all of a sudden, he wasn't. Maybe Davenport will be more available from now on than he has been?

1. You have to do that before the 4th season starts on first round players.
2. We already did it on Davenport before this season started.

We still have Cam for a couple more years. DE isnt a necessity next year.

However, WR is a must. I expect one drafted in first or second round. We also need to address DT for depth and potentially QB.
Also, we need a TE worth a frick. (And thats not shaming Taysom)

Maybe we could trade him and get some holes filled like QB and WR.

The more pressing question is how do the Saints keep Marcus Williams? He's legit one of the best FS in the league.

Something like 5yrs - 60 mil with 24 guaranteed. Basically just two yrs guaranteed due to past injury history.

Would be good for both sides considering he’s still young.

I’m just glad he didn’t get hurt in that little scuffle today.

^^This.
He's clearly the best talent on our D-line when he's on the field.
Cam is still elite against the run, but not generating much pass rush when Davenport is not on the field. Cam is at that point of his career where he NEEDS someone opposite him to take on the double teams and chips
Kpassonga has shown up a bit this year, but not game changing
Granderson is a good rotational player
Turner hasn't seen the field much, but looks to have potential, but has not shown enough to let Davenport leave and let him take the lead
