How did that work out for us? Was he cut from another team or did we pick him up as an un drafted free agent?

UDFA but was w/ Ravens first, lost to Tucker. Got a tryout with a week to go last year after Forbath won that camp battle, didn't matter. The workout was too good.

This may be crazy, but he reminds me of Morten, the way the ball just seems to go through the dead middle of the uprights. Back it the 80s/early 90s the uprights at the saints facility were 1/4 regulation width so that he could practice getting it right down the middle.

same guy who couldnt kick over the tackle dummies in practice last year. and did you see that 50 yard kick? if "anyone" raised a hand it would be blocked, it was barely 3" above the defenses helmets when it crossed the line of scrimmage

nothing screams great kicker there yet and he seems to have reverted to kicking balls way too low just like he was doing last year when he had 3 or 4 blocked

Payton 2016 offseason: "He had the best workout I've ever seen for a kicker."
Us after ~10 games and 50 blocked kicks: "WTF, is Payton back on the drugs? 'BEST WORKOUT EVER LOL.'"
Us in 2017 offseason: "I like chicks but I'd probably touch Lutz's dingus is he asked me to. Payton found a diamond in the rough there."

Yea, lets just replace guys everytime they miss a kick or 2. Seems like a great way to instill confidence in any young kicker.

well lets hear from all the fan boys denying lutz is still kicking too low and is not the kicker we need.

sure he has the leg, hell he could have made that 59 yard kick if it was straight, but, and its a HUGE but, he cant get it high enough to make sure it will not be blocked and he has had a full year to work on it and that is why they cut him from his last team. that coach even told payton, he has a cannon for a leg but has a low trajectory so they let him go because of that. hello??? red flag do not sign him

all of you so quick to proclaim he is the best kicker ever and our savior because he made a few pre season kicks when the other teams were not "really" going after him should just come out and admit you were wrong and just say he needs to go already.

is he better then anyone we have now? yes, can he do a good job for us this year? yes, but will he get some kicks blocked that cost us games? yes. so lets hope a good kicker gets cut that we can bring in and sign to replace him
