-Peat looked great in his first game. No glaring errors.

-Kikaha showed great speed. Needs to diagnose plays faster, but I think that will come with time. Great agility off the edge.

-We have two quality backup QB starters. I give the edge to Griffin tonight. Showed great touch on his throws. Good accuracy, hope we keep him over McCown

-Our kicking situation seems to have been solved. Either one of these guys could start. Strong legs on both.

Don't want to get too high or too low on any player after tonight. I think the coaches got a good look at quite a few of the bubble guys. Hopefully the injuries aren't too serious.

UP: Murphy looked good on kick returns
Down: We commit penalties on every kick return

Agree totally we have some depth on this team
-offense seemed to move the ball well no matter who was at the helm just goes to show you it's about the system and knowing we're to be and doing your assignment right , we don't need big name receivers, Payton will set it up and Brees will pit the ball were in needs to be

He found the seams repeatedly. We could use a quality return man. Last KO return TD we had was Sproles against Green Bay.

Gotta give credit for the near TD last year vs the dirty birds

All went downhill after that.

No doubt, but it was a hell of a start to that game.

Peat got beat pretty bad on a running play to Hightower.

Negatives: OGs and the interior DL are completely awful. The secondary was pretty inconsistent too. Gotta fix it.

I like all of our RBs.. Ingram, Robinson, Spiller, and Hightower

I hope Murphy can secure a spot on the roster.. Is it possible he becomes a casualty??

I think we keep murphy over hightower. Looked great on KO returns.

I'd like to see Peat at backup LT next week instead of RT..God forbid anything happen to Armstead because if he goes down it won't look to pretty behind him...If Peat isn't going to start then he needs to be read to back up at the most important position on the line since he appears to be the most competent backup

I'd also like to see RG4 play with the 1's/2's next week to compare against what McCown did last night...RG4 looked better last night, but it cannot be overstated that it was against lesser competition

Hightower does still look like he has gas in the tank, but Murphy makes #4RB over him

Orson Charles has a good catch, but also had 2 drops....Did Alex Smith do anything last night?...Either way I'd be interested to see what TE's get cut in the coming weeks because I think we will bring somebody else in the be third TE

That was a Punt Return.

Could be very possible. As you said, he would probably be a 5th RB. However, he is a very good returner so there's a good chance he could make the team as well. We need a good returner like him anyway.

Agreed, improved secondary was supposed to fix that... although much of our improved secondary went down to injury pretty early last night, so maybe the jury is still out?
