Hebert was a pretty good QB. He had an awful offensive coordinator, though. He went from the Cajun Cannon with 50 yard bombs to Anthony Carter in the USFL to a guy who couldn't throw the ball more than 8 yards under Carl Smith's system. Awful.

Plus, all of our receivers ran the 40 in about 5 seconds. That didn't help. Eric Martin had great hands, but he'd be playing TE today, probably.

Everett and Hebert had some pretty good years. Hebert sat out the year they should have done some damage in the playoffs and Foircade took his place in a forgettable experiment.

Everett was very underrated and probably the best pure QB between Manning and Brees.

I don't disagree that a couple had some decent years, but none = manning/brees by a long shot IMHO....Enjoy Brees while we can saints fans

I always wonder what would have happened if Blake wouldn't have gotten hurt his first season or if we would have just stuck with him when he came back like we should have.

At the time, going with Brooks was the right thing to do.

Yeah but it would've been nice to see if Blake could've turned it around. He, at least, didn't smile when he threw a pick

i know, he was playing really well before that injury if i recall

then Brooks came in, played average, and won the spot b/c Hakim dropped the ball

If he'd been the QB instead of Hebert during the Dome Patrol days the Saints probably would've gone to a couple of Super Bowls.

Not with Carl Smith as OC.
