I'd like to land one of these guys:
Melvin Ingram
Zach Brown
Dontari Poe (if Fairley doesn't resign)

- I really like Melvin Ingram on the edge.
- LB wise, I like a guy that is not talked about much in AJ Klein. He is on a Carolina Team that is set with Keuchly in the middle. When he plays, he is very solid. He started for an injured Luke in a playoff game and recorded 15 tackles. Not saying he would be a stud, but he is only 25 and would probably come cheap.
- At CB I would love to get A.J. Bouye, but I'm not really high on anyone else at the position.
- In the middle, I wouldn't mind bringing back Nick. I would really love to see Poe in middle to push the pocket and help stop the running game

shite, let's go for both.

We have a chance this offseason to create a very dominant dline imo with Jordan already there and Rankins showing potential

If Drew wouldn't be so damn selfish he would take a paycut so we can build a defense around him and get him 1-2 more Super Bowl rings!
Drew has made $181,710,422 in his career off of his contract. That's not counting endorsements.

$181.7 M over 16 years equals just over $11M a year; at least try to do some work and put a legit argument out there if you are going to throw out the same old shite.

So, my question to you is: 1) Would you rather make $20 million/year and finish 7-9 year in and year out or 2) make $10 million a year and be a contender? All this while already having made $181.7M over 16 years

I am all for players making their money while they are able to play in the league. BUT at a point where you have made almost 200 million (plus endorsements), you and your kids are taken care of for pretty much for life.

If you are nearing the end of your career and would like to win another SB, you may have to make a tough choice. Like I said, I am all for him making his money. BUT the D is still shite and teams do have a salary cap to deal with. If Mickey can put a winner on the field without having to touch Drew's contract.....Great, He is definitely worth the contract.

Drew will go down as the greatest player in the Franchise's history (and it's not even close), and we all love the guy. The only thing that he really rubbed me the wrong way about was in his contract talks in '12. He made comments that he wanted to have a contract that still helped the team to sign standouts (paraphrasing), but at the same time he held out for the biggest contract of the time. Like I said, make your money when you can......but don't lie about wanting to help the team.

That's really the only thing he ever did to frustrate me. He was well worth the contract though

I can see someone like Branch or Sheard at DE. I think the Saints make a hard run at a CB, maybe Bouye or Ryan. I kinda doubt Zeitler ever hits the market.

You are right, I wasn't even thinking about him for some reason. He would be a great get

See, you're assuming that had he only been making $10 mil a year (which is criminal for a QB of his caliber) that the Saints front office would have spent the extra money wisely enough to make the team a contender.
Stop trying to say that Drew is selfish and makes to much. It's ignorant

Brees could have played for free for the last few years and it wouldn't have made a difference with bad signings, horrible assistant coaches, bad luck and injuries.

I can see them making a huge splash, for a big time CB, since they were in the running for Josh Norman. And then sign a guy like Andre Branch who will come cheap and is an up and coming edge rusher.
