First 5 should be 1 G/OT, 1 WR, 1 ILB, 1 Edge guy, and I guess 1 CB. What would you go for the last 4?

5 - 148
5 - 154
6 - 187
7 - 230

Assuming that I'd go

Rounds 1-3: 1G/OT, 1 WR, 1 ILB, 1 EDGE guy, 1 CB

5 - DT
5 - G/OT
6 - Edge guy
7 - Tight End

What do you disagree with? We have to draft an ILB, Guard, WR, and 1 EDGE guy with the 1st 5. I guess you could take a DT or another EDGE guy instead of a CB.

based on your scenerio, I'd go

5-K

7-K

I'm not overly a fan of going G w/ the 13th, pick. I think we can do well with either 2nd or 3rd round picks. I think its important to swing for the fences at positions of higher impact than Guard. (Guard is important but not on the same level as a franchise front 7 player or a few other positions)

I'm not saying that we have to go Guard at pick 13. I'm saying that a Guard has to be drafted within those 5 picks. I'm saying that we must draft 1G/OT, 1 WR, 1 ILB, and 1 EDGE guy with in the top 5 picks. The other position can be either DT, EDGE guy, or CB.

There are a lot of scenarios that can play out here honestly it depends on who falls and if we decide to move up from 31 to snag them. Saints will make moves with as many picks as we have.

Overall we have 9 picks. It's very likely that we take these 8 positions with those 9 picks:

2 G/OT
1 WR
1 DT
2 EDGE guys
1 ILB
1 CB

The last pick could either be another WR, TE, another CB, or another LB.

I would say RB, but I think we just take 2 udfa's and choose between them and Tim Hightower for our #4 RB.

Much more about value at the spots rather than positional need. Ex: Most are not too hot on drafting a DT. If Malcolm Brown or Armstead were on the board at #31 it could be almost a forced BPA pick.

Remember that Deuce was essentially that kind of pick. Ricky Williams had just completed a 1000 yards in 10 games season.

I'm not married to any position at any point. BPA should be the strategy minus a few select positions we are "stacked" at.

Forcing a pick out of need increases the bust potential.

I agree. We'll most likely take a DT in the 3rd or 5th(These are the guys we should do most of our scouting on.) But if Shelton falls to 13 or Malcolm Brown falls to 31 then you have something to think about. I like the DT's at our 44 pick...but we have too many other needs at other positions right here.

Watson only a sophomore. I like where ya mind's at though. Draft him this year to get him next year to be Brees' hair parent.

I could see them drafting a DT also in first 5 picks.
Also, don't be surprised if a QB is drafted.

Petty 2nd
Grayson, Mannion 5th

Some lineman depth(on both sides) would be solid in the late rounds.

A gamble on a WR like austin hill late would be nice as well.

Honestly, he should just rock the dome before it gets to this point. I'm not too far behind him and thats what I plan to do haha

You should have clarified that you weren't necessarily saying in that specific order. I started to reply and say we need a LB first then I realized exactly what you were saying.
