That's actually pretty damn fantastic.

Vanderdoes has the potential to be a stud.

Also, I'd much rather get Barnett from U. Tenn. in the 1st round personally. We need a pass rusher and Barnett proved he could do it in the toughest conference in college football; and I doubt a pass rusher from a basketball school (Villanova) will be any good. JMHO.

I'm sure you've done just tons of research and film study of these players to come to this conclusion. JMHO

Really hot take by him too.

He values a top 15 pick more than a 3rd rounder

We're not going to draft an all defensive class. Not with CSP at the helm. Expect a tight end/ olinemen in there somewhere, possibly a backup qb.

This...

Not this coach, no way.

Cool, one guy out of how many turned out to be good? The logic behind what I'm saying stands true for the majority of players that come from D2 or non-traditional football schools. I think most people would agree with that.

So we shouldn't scout or go after potentially talented players for that reason. That isn't logical, it is an absolute rule that lacks logic.

Brilliant.

Not saying that at all. Simply that those "traditional schools" tend to produce more NFL talent than "non-traditional" schools. I think getting that guy in the 3rd round is a reach, if hes there 5th or 6th round sure, take him. But there will be better options in the 3rd round. I hope the dude becomes a HOFer, I hope I am wrong, just stating my HO.

Do you know anything about the guy other than where he went to school?

Because you haven't actually said 1 word about his play

He may not even be there by the 3rd round btw.

Sure have, Barnett will be a good player and I think he'd be solid on the other end opposite of Jordan.

When Pittsburgh hosted Villanova to open the 2016 season, Panthers coach Pat Narduzzi watched Kpassagnon block a field goal and register two tackles for loss and a quarterback hurry. He ended up convinced Kpassagnon would play in the NFL and asked Sports Illustrated a question heard frequently around Mobile: “How did [Villanova] get him?”

quote:

The answer winds through Future Business Leaders of America association and an academic recruiting power play that would make Tony Soprano blush. In June of Kpassagnon’s junior year of high school, most of his peers scattered the northeast to attend one-day college camps and draw the attention of recruiters. But Kpassagnon spent much of the month in Orlando with a few of his friends, as they’d advanced to FBLA’s finals and worked on delivering a 40-minute presentation on business ethics. “It was sick,” Kpassagnon recalls with a smile.

Interesting story

quote:

Villanova agreed, and Tanoh Kpassagnon earned degrees in finance and accounting during his five years.

Nice LSU shout out too

quote:

On the field, his development came slowly. He redshirted his first year to put on weight—he arrived weighing around 240—and started his career as a tight end. By the time he became a junior, he’d switched to defensive end and grew into his body. Former UConn coach Bob Diaco recalls Kpassagnon “dominating our front” when the teams faced to open the 2015 season. By later that year against James Madison, Kpassagnon looked more fit for the SEC than the CAA. “He reminded me of the dudes that would line up on the edges for LSU,” said Brett Elliott, JMU’s former offensive coordinator who’d worked at Mississippi State the previous year.]

Could do worse than him in the 3rd round. 6'7 290 lbs. Holy crap

He didn't focus on football in hs, liked basketball

The small school and project type concerns are the reason someone with his size and athleticism isn't a first rounder. He's a first round athlete

So yea, I'd love to get him in the 5th or 6th too

Yea, dude is huge, and jumps out on film for being the biggest, and best athlete on the field. But, he is also going against those all world offensive tackles from Towson, Delaware, and other powerhouse programs. If the Saints do draft him, I'll take it with a grain of salt and hope for the best.

That's why he's a projected 3rd rounder and not a top 10 pick.

No one, except you, has tried to compare him to Barnett. He's a development pick that has elite potential.

Lol I never compared him to Barnett. In not one of my posts did I say "Barnett will be way better than the kid from 'Nova". The reason I want Barnett in the 1st round is because he likely won't be available when we pick in round 2. Do I think Barnett will be better? Yes. Am I comparing him and the Nova kid? No. My original response to this post was mostly about not taking Foster with our first pick, instead we take:

1. Barnett DE U. Tenn
2. Either T. White CB LSU, Desmond King CB Iowa or Raekwon McMillan LB from Ohio State
After the 2nd round I would simply be speculating on who'd be there or not.

Foster hopefully will be the pick. I'm almost certain that the Saints will address pass rush in FA

Correct. FA will defiantly determine who/what position we draft, another point I forgot to make.

Just for fun heres a link to all FA's. Lots of options for our positions of need.

Looks very good, but White and Tanoh would be long gone at those picks.
