La'el Collins has met with the BRPD "for over an hour"

...developing.
I wonder how long it will take for word to get out, then his phone to ring off the hook...hopefully with calls from Loomis.

This isn't the rant, though.

Weren't YOU the one that just started a stupid La'el thread this morning?

I need more info. I can't comment.

RA the thread, fellas. That's what I get for not coming round these parts that often.

To not expect a lot of threads on the Collins' situation is being naive. It's a big story!
I believe that we're a ways away from knowing what is going to happen. It could take weeks before the police are comfortable enough to give a clean bill of health. This is a murder investigation and they take time.

Good point Adono... this "we will get this cleared up and get him signed by Monday" thing came from his agent.

I don't expect him to be cleared any time soon. Police are usually very tight lipped about these investigations until they've made an arrest or they really need the public's help.

Yup, the same guy who made it known that he wouldn't sign with anyone if picked lower than the 3rd round. He mistakenly thought he could go back into the 2016 draft (that's a pretty big screw up...IMO).

Exactly. Cops probably saw that and said "aw, that's cute... he thinks we're going to clear up a murder investigation in a day."

First, what do you think a UDFA contract is going to look like? It will be "on the cheap" as well.
Secondly, he wouldn't be locked into any contract if he didn't sign it. He could have had the option to reenter the draft in 2016.

If/When he is cleared he won't sign an UDFA contract. Most teams will have their caps pretty much set and won't have room to offer him what he's worth. He'll sit out the season and enter the 2016 draft. Best option for him, If he is cleared.

Every team's offer will be the same. Money will not be a factor.

No he does not. If he had been drafted, the yes, he could. As an undrafted guy, he cannot enter the draft again. He is a free agent and falls under the undrafted free agent rookie pool.
