Loomis might be forced to make changes, but I think both Harley (Carolina GM) and Ireland (Chargers GM) are not the problem. If they both leave the franchise will definitely take a hit.

Any thoughts on replacements?

Glad you randomly have what the problem is or isn't all figured out buddy. Jeff Ireland was in charge of drafting Turner, Penning, Olave and Foskey. But thanks for your thoughts.

Khri Harley has been in the organization for 16 years. If he was your planned replacement for Loomis then it should be made clear to Loomis that it's time for him to step into an behind the scenes roll and let the Khri era begin.

Ireland I couldn't care less about. I think he's good at what he does and is respected but extremely overrated.

Maybe a fresh perspective in draft scouting would be a good thing.

Drafts started getting better when Ireland came on board. I'd hate to lose him.

Our drafts have been average at best under Ireland outside of 2017, though 2023 looks promising.

Underhill and Triplett don’t seem that worried about Ireland and said that Cody Rager or Michael Parenton would step into his shoes as they’ve both been groomed by Ireland and Loomis.

Harley would be the biggest loss BUT would get us 2 third round picks which we sorely need tbh

Losing Ireland would be a big loss. Loomis needs to retire and Ireland should be promoted to GM.

Ok.. then who gets credit for Penning, Davenport, Turner, Foskey, etc?

Ireland has been riding the good will from the 2017 class for a while now. His drafting since then has been middle of the road and that's being generous. Harley would be a big hit especially of Loomis wants to continue the kick the can bullshite.

I’ve been preaching the same thing ever since the recent reports of Ireland interviewing with the Chargers. It’s not a bad thing at all if he leaves. The draft is always a crapshoot but we’ve been batting BELOW league average on hitting on some of our picks. Getting a hungrier guy in there, a younger guy ready to prove himself with new ideas, is kind of needed
