Just a curiosity question for Saints fans with no Louisiana ties?

How in the world did you become a Saints fan? I lived in BR for 21 years, then relocated to Colorado. The only Saints fans I ever meet out here are like myself and Louisiana raised? I'm just curious that with all the bad years of football in New Orleans, one would end up liking the Saints. This isn't a knock on anyone who is, just an honest question.

In Austin their is a guy at the sports bar I go to who is a die hard Saints fan from South Dakota. Said he hated the 49ers and became a Saints fan.

My Best friend's family is from Louisiana and they turned me on them. I was always just a NCAA fan and didnt watch much pro so i never had declared a team before them

I "chose" them when I was 8 because they had cool colors.
