3-3 FGs, 1-1 Extra Point. He basically showed Hartley how to make the kick's your supposed to make to help your team. I hope young grasshopper is taking notes.

Exactly my point. He wasn't asked to make any kicks that were more than chip shots. He made his kicks, did his job and the team wins. Simple as that.

Hartley made sure to pay hard attention when Carney was out there. Looked like he was studying the art of the field goal. You'll get your shot at redemption Garrett, just work hard until you get it.

Looked like he was studying being pissed off to me.

I noticed that too...probably good to have him out right now to 'get it together', still a long season ahead. But, I had nightmares all week about that missed FG against Atlanta...

Who was putting on the holding clinic... Morstead or Daniel?

doubtful

If he didn't learn from Carney last year I don't think he is learning this year.

Besides, with Hartley it has to be a mental thing

exactly mental, I saw a interview Hatrley and Dempsey together, and the reporter asks Dempsey what he thinks of Hartley, he says he's got all the tools, but tends to "overkick" sometimes on the shorter kicks, he was dead on in that analysis! Hartley agreed with him, but wasn't listening as you can see!

So when he replaced Carney last year he wasn't a stud?

I agree it's a mental thing, and I think that's the whole reasoning of bringing in Carney. Carney has always had a very calm and cool demeanor, which is exactly what Hartley needs to take from him.

I think he also needs to take Carney's choice for Holder...

I'm still confused as to why Hartley was inactive. Carney could barely make 40 yard field goals in his last real start as a Saint.

It would have really sucked if we needed to kick 4 field goals over 40 to win the game because Carney simply does not have the leg for it anymore.

Unless he roided up from his last stint here.

He was inactive because we had 2 injured runningbacks and 2 injured safeties.

So everyone is just going to ignore the fact that he barely slipped that last one through?

Just like everyone ignored the fact that Hartley was barely slipping xtra points through during preseason. Our kicking problems are not resolved.

I do have more confidence in Carney as well however, especially from 40 yards or less
