Longtime New Orleans Saints receiver Joe Morgan is signing with the Baltimore Ravens, according to ESPN's Ed Werder.
Morgan, who worked out for the Ravens on Tuesday, has spent most of the last five seasons with the Saints.
Morgan has been signed and released three times and played in only two games for the Saints in 2015. He failed to make the team coming out of training camp but was re-signed 11 days later. The Saints cut Morgan on Oct. 6 but re-signed him again on Oct. 13 after Marques Colston suffered a shoulder injury. He was released again on Oct. 24 when Colston returned to practice.
The Ravens are seeking depth at receiver with first-round draft pick Breshad Perriman and veteran Steve Smith out due to injury.
Morgan, 27, originally signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Walsh University in Ohio in 2011.
He spent his rookie season on the injured reserve list, but captured fans' attention in 2012 when he caught 10 passes for 379 yards and three touchdowns. His big plays including receptions of 80, 62, 48 and 44 yards.
But Morgan had few opportunities to build on the promise. He spent 2013 on the IR and played in only five games in 2014, catching four passes.
He was suspended by the team last October for undisclosed reasons and eventually released only to be re-signed in April before the start of organized team activities and training camp.

He did say that he was considering playing 1 more year. I'd welcome him with open arms. A lot of Saints fans can't stand him though.

He hasn't said anything, but his own coach said he wouldn't be shocked if he "went out like that". I think he'd like to have a FULL final season. But, it's all about how the injury and rehab go, I'm sure.

I'd rather go 0-16. Not even joking.
