Don't we have about 40 Million in cap to spend on FAs next year. I am not saying that the Saints will or should draft Adams, but team needs now is not really something that can be used to determine if any player will be taken in the draft months from now.
Truthfully, I hope we address our pass rush, CB, and OG concerns in FA. I think our LBers have been playing really well and Ellerbe playing is a big bonus to the unit. Still a need, but not as big of a need as the others.
Really though think we can find a good OG and LBer for reasonable money and we should have plenty to address DE and CB.
So that said, I could easily see the Saints in a legitimate position of draft BPA by the time the draft rolls around.

You do know that good to great pass rushers and CB's demand the greatest FA money behind QB's?
I think money wise for FA's I would shoot for starting guards, and depth at safety(assume Bryd gone) and CB(we can't have enough it seems).
I would go heavy in the draft for DE and pass rushing LB'ers. Oh and a kicker as CSP will probably fire our current one

Sure I understand that, but we have something around 40 million in cap space. If you average 10 million per position with CB, DE, OG, and Lber (I am not saying we should, but I am just using this to make a point) we could land highly touted players at each position.
Truthfully, I can see us spending that type of nickle on a CB and DE to get some stud players and still have plenty to address OG and rotational players at other positions. I mean look at what Loomis has done with negative cap space. With 40 million, we could recreate a synthetically enhanced Deon Sanders and Ray Lewis at a Russian lab and still have money left over to buy the naming rights to the Lombardi.

We have two in the box strong safeties already. We need a free safety. He's a great player, but not a fit for the Saints, imo.

Hoodoo, think it's time to change that sig? It's only been 3 years.

No he's not he sucked there and had terrible hips that's why he was moved from corner. JP is not an elite db theres a reason why Adams is rated the top safety in the country. He has better pure cover skills as well. Adams will be an all-pro.. This will come up years down the line just like with landon Collins. He was terrible in coverage and didn't rap up yet he's one of the best players in the league on defense now..

Peppers relies on his athletic ability more than technique, if he's taught to play any position PROPERLY in the secondary given his burst and ability to change direction he should excel. His biggest problem while playing corner was being used in off coverage, at 6'1" 205 he's built to be a press corner. Like I said I'd try him there 1st, if he's not cut out for the position, than move him somewhere else.

Wish he stays. He is very good but a little over-hyped. Definitely NFL material this year though

I would love this draft pick since we seem to love the 3 safety look, let Byrd walk and you got so much versatility at that position between Adams, bell, and vacarro
