first I want to say what I think we all know if we are being honest about it.
I see last night as 100% coaching failures
60% dennis allen has to go or we never have a chance
40% payton sucks at play calling and game planning and I don't see that changing so I guess its time he goes too but then who replaces him? I see no better options out there sadly
yes we have a few injuries and those things can hurt you but bringing in a second string player is "supposed" to have at least "adequate" skill level and shouldn't be a raging dumpster fire.
plus there certainly are quite a few player talent issues on this team, but those go right back to being payton's fault
with all that said, AP getting in payton's face isn't good and it spelled the end for cooks so im thinking its no different with AP in that payton will be looking to unload him soon unless he gives him one time pass being it was against the Vikings.
I just don't see it working with AP getting 6-7 caries a game, in fact I don't see how it works with any of them getting 6-7 carries a game and that's what it has to be if you run a "balanced" offense.
the teams run an average 60 lays every game so that is 30 run 30 pass and with 3 running backs that's only a max of 10 carries each per game and I say 6-7 because we all know brees is gonna get a 60/40 split in run vs pass.
so after all that, if we "can" trade AP what replacement starting player would be on our wish list? or would you prefer a 6th or 7th round draft pick instead of someone another team would swap for him?

If you want to trade AP you have to get him carries and make him attractive to other teams.

I'm not about to give up RB depth for a 6th or 7th round pick. You have to give him carries, I love that we have 3 backs to choose from but you can't keep plucking them out of the lineup just for the sake of "changing it up". RB's have to get loose and a feel for the defense, we need to stick to 1 RB per drive.

Everybody needs to to take an objective look at the situation. AP and Payton both know that AP is a the ail end of his career. There was a reason why Minnesota did not want him back and very few other teams were biting. 32 years old, has been beat up over 10-11 seasons. He's not going to be the X factor.....Kamara, however, will be.

His arse would be gone today if I was head coach. He will be a cancer in the locker room.

Why? The man just wants to play....

so lets assume someone "is" interested in him, I hear giants and some other team are hurting for running help and AP does still have something to give as a straight up the middle power RB if a team has a decent O line to block for him.
would a 6th or 7th round be too much to ask/hope for seeing as how he has a very cheap 2 year for only $7 mil contract that goes with him?
