Totally agree... I think I waste way too much time stressing about getting the 1 seed.

I kind of feel mad at myself that I'm not enjoying this season more - it's really had some fantastic moments...
it really has.
The opener vs. ATL had it all. While a thumping of the Falcons would have been nice, I'm glad the game went the way it did. We got a goal line stand in the same end zone two years in a row on those guys. I thought that was really fitting... sent a message to them and really set the tone for this season.
but I've lost a lot of respect for the NFL. I just don't like the way things were handled by the league and the way the media painted a board brush over the organization last year. I just don't view the rest of the games with as much enthusiasm as I used to (non- Saints games).
I'm not bitter about it but something really has changed.
I guess it was all of the B.S. from last year mixed with the all-time high from 2009. Also have to include the harsh ending to the 2011 season out in San Francisco.
I know that I'll never be as happy as I was during the 2009 season. I don't think that is a bad thing but it does kind of mess with me sometimes... I don't get as excited as I used to over EVERY win but each loss still pisses me the hell off just the same way it always has.
But since the parity in the league is greater now, I think that makes it all that much sweeter to see what the Saints have done this year. I mean a few years ago the NFC West was the turd of the league and now it may be the toughest division in all of football. It forces you to want a newer rivalry with some teams (like Seattle).
it also rehashes some old rivalries (49ers, Rams).
