What's the worst that could happen?

If a backup becomes a distraction, they are easy to expunge.

I wouldn't mind bringing him in, Vick beats the shite out of having a 50 year old Brunell as the backup.

I don't think the distractions would be that bad provided that he was signed mid-season or not expected to play much going into the season.

Some people think he's a thug because he hurt some dogs. They are frightened of him physically.

I couldn't care less if we have thugs on the team, I just care about the W's. But I guess the people who buy into that ''Payton kind of player'' crap would be upset.

I read a funny description of Anthony Hargrove on SR once. The poster wrote, ''I was frightened of him physically...but in a good way.''

Really? let's see ummmmm... he could have a flashback and kill Gumbo. Alot of Saints fans that love dogs could boycott and the last thing we need is that kind of attention. Keep him the frick off our team. Let him be someone elses problem. Dude sucks a QB anyway.

yeah, with a huge waiting list I'm sure ticket sales is what would worry the Saints most. get real, dude.

Let's say the unthinkable happens and in a freak play Drew goes down hurt in the first preseason game. Torn ACL, shoulder tricep whatever, but out for the season.

Vick is still available. How many people wouldn't want to go get him for a 1 year deal while we wait for Drew to come back?

I'd take him in a heartbeat in that situation

Really. . .

That all you got?

You need to bring it.

I would say that maybe 100 or so people would boycott, and about 100 of them would not have been football fans. . .just PETA activists.

NFL defenses wouldn't be prepared to face him for a while. The Saints could still make the playoffs with him at the helm, Harrington/Brunell not so much.

I agree with that, plus if Payton is the offensive genius we believe, he could adapt the system to better suit Vicks talents as opposed to Drew

If he's the genius that we think that he is, then he can make a good QB out of Harrington.

Vick for his failures as a QB, still has better tools than Harrington

He's less accurate than Harrington as a passer, which is pretty key in our or any other offense.

I rather not have him, but that's because his skills at qb suck. He can't throw the ball accurately at all, and that's what our offense is built around.

And some people think he's a thug because of how he carries himself and his actions. Not that I care, but just thought I'd clear that up

Payton would base the offense around PT and Vick's running ability.

Hopefully Payton could find a way to get Vick's comp% all the way up from 54 to match Harringtons 56.

Been thinkin about this...but I think a guy like Vick is useless for us. Our game is built around passing, and passing accurately at that, so he would suck in our system. Our team isn't made to run like he likes to do...we pass! This is why we have one of the smartest and best passing qbs in the league.
