if Saints are interested in letting CSP look elsewhere there could be a bidding war over him

I've read that we're trading CSP and Drew to the Dolphins tomorrow after Jeff Ireland is named new GM of the Saints. Word is Ireland is going to hire Joe Philbin as our new HC. Hopefully Joe has us ready to play on Thursday.

Can you trade a coach? If so for what?

Id take draft picks for him. Let Ireland get alot of room to work with next year.

Faced with the reality they would lose him one way or another, the Oakland Raiders traded Coach Jon Gruden to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday for four draft picks--two first-rounders and two second-rounders--and $8 million.

Oh yeah you can trade a coach for picks. You actually get a higher amount of picks on the trade for a good coach than you would for a great player. There is a reason for that, so be prepared for some rough years if something like that were to happen. I look at it like this.

Picks and coaching vacancies are not everything. Teams like Jacksonville and Oakland have had an absurd amount of high picks in previous drafts, and have all the coaching turnover in the world, but they still suck. It really takes a lot of effort and some degree of luck to create an NFL organization that functions as well as it has for us and other teams like New England.
