I like the picks but trading down with Houston would have been even better

I mean I love Lattimore and Ramczyk seems like good value but I like this even better:

Trade with Texans get their 25 this year and 1st and 2nd next.

Wow.

At 25, take Tre White. At 32 take Ryan Ramczyk again. Is Lattimore 1st and a 2nd more than White? I'm not even an LSU home, so I'd be fine with Watt or Foster at 25 too.

Why do we refuse to trade down?

Well why wouldn't it have been? They made it to Cleveland, I'm assuming we could have gotten in on it too.

I hate all the talks about trading down, you can't trade down if nobody wants to trade up into your spot

Because with the way the salary cap and the rookie wage scale are set up, teams have to build their teams in the draft, which requires picks. The Saints already have a lack of drafted players on the roster, why would they trade away more picks?

So teams just magically decide to trade up with every team but the Saints. Damn, we have bad luck.

I said I liked the picks but I refuse to believe there are not opportunities to move down.

Maybe everyone hates Loomis

Fact is you have no idea what was or wasn't offered. Or what may have been turned down

Maybe the saints think lattimore is a sure thing. Lots of unknowns

Not full on the OP but still, c'mon...

Can never satisfy folks here. If they find any criticism the player sucks and the Saints blew it again. If they select a guy that was rated 10 spots higher they say How come he fell?

I love Tre White, but If Lattimore is healthy they're not on the same level.

Jesus, I said I liked the picks. I give them an A for both.

And there were rumors that there was an opportunity to trade down but they got trumped. I'm just saying that a trade down depending on the offer, may have been even better.

If the Texans were willing to give up what they did to the Browns, it seems reasonable that the same deal would have been available to the Saints? Why wouldn't it be? We were higher in the order so the pick was worth more points.

Did we have that offer on the table? Were you in the war room?

And I agree that Lattimore is much better than White.

Sounds like OP is asking a logical question.

Saints almost traded up Lattimore. So him falling to him was luck maybe.

Why can't we all just be happy that we got an elite talent at a position of need. Draft picks mean nothing, at the end of the day what you need is players. We got a great one.
