It's a good thing there's ST to help CSP know how to do his job.

he can be stationary at any time and have 25% of the width of the field covered.

I like him a lot. But there's so much depth at CB I could see us waiting until the 2nd or 3rd.

We really need that second 1st round pick.

I have been keeping an eye on Rayshawn Jenkins...But Obi has shot up the charts as far as I am concerned. Obi is a seconded rounder. I like him.

I sure hope we can pick him up in later rounds somehow, and we do love guys with weird hard to pronounce names in the draft lol

Maybe some jumping juice at UConn. Byron Jones 2015 has the record vertical at 44.5"

In all fairness CSP talent evaluations have been way off the last 5 years..

Like getting fired off

Giant safeties make me nervous. You see guys like this and you gotta think "what's the catch?"

Kam Chancellor is the only guy that size I can think of off the top of my head playing safety

quote:

Weaknesses

Leggy and gets feet bundled up when asked to turn and sprint. Lacks desired instincts and will play with slow eyes at times. Has to see ball in the air before charging over to help on deep throws. Inconsistent with coverage responsibilities from high safety. Takes time to diagnose play-action. Rub routes found him near goal line. Can take inefficient paths to the ball that get him there a step too late. Would benefit from high-pointing rather than waiting on throws. Sources Tell Us "He's a freak. He's going to blow away the combine. He's fast and will post some of the best vertical and broad numbers at his position. He's going to get a lot better in the pros and he has that elite size that will get him overdrafted." -- AFC Pro Personnel Director

NFL Comparison George Iloka

Bottom Line Big and athletic, he may lack the coverage qualities and instincts needed to work as a "last line of defense" player in a pass-happy division. Melifonwu is an effective downhill tackler who has the ability to match up against tight ends and make a living near the line of scrimmage. His football instincts aren't up to par, but the size and traits will be extremely enticing for teams who covet traits first.

He's a small LB that played safety. Do not want. We need a guy who can cover.

Sean Smith is 6'3 and has had a good career at both S and CB (the Cooks asskicking last season aside).

anybody with a name like Obi Melifonwu fits right in on the saints.

I want him just to watch them trying to say his name right on TV
