I can't believe the Oprah / Drew Brees birthmark thing wasn't huge

What a horrible gaffe that was. I can't believe that nobody really said anything about it nationally - did Deadspin even touch it?
That lady must have some power. Look, I'm no Sarah Palin fan - the lady is more retarded than either of her sons - but God forbid if she had somehow made that gaffe - we'd still be hearing the yuks over it to this day.

Deadspin had a story about it but it's not that big of a deal. Oprah probably hadn't heard of Drew Brees before the Superbowl and likely hadn't ever seen his face until the trophy presentation. Most non-football diehards probably don't know about Drew's birthmark so I doubt it'd be a big deal with Palin either.

I know I will get attack for this, but you can bet your arse if the racial makeup was different. If Oprah was white and Drew was black that you would have never heard the end of it.

This isn't about race it's about PC. Oprah's one of the "good guys" so she gets a pass, and honestly as much as you're complaining about the double standard, you think this should be a non event and that a big deal shouldn't be made about it. That's why the double standard bothers you.

Seriously, I saw that birthmark thing and she didn't lose a step and just moved on like nothing happened. No big deal. I did notice that at least she knew Drew's basic story about getting hurt, the knocks on his size, his belief in the city and the team, etc. I'm no Ope fan but I thought she did a pretty decent job.
