Seriously? How many times is this gonna happen before people realize that maybe someone else is the problem? I mean, what are we paying Payton for if he can't handle a few egos with talent?
At some point, I stop believing the company line and start wondering why Payton and Brees are hard to work with.

Maybe they aren't looking at that when they draft talent. I am willing to bet Cooks was like this at Oregon too.

Plenty of guys are fine though. Colston, meachem, Henderson, Moore, Snead. These guys couldn't have a bad thing to say about Brees and Payton.
I think the issue is more that our offense inflates players sense of worth and they feel like they should be able to do more than they do here (or make more $$, in Graham's case) since we spread the ball so much. I don't think it's a coincidence that literally the only skill position player to leave this team and really still be good is Sproles, who was good before he even got here.

All reports about Cooks coming out of college was that he was a high character guy.
But the NFL changes people. Who knows?
I will say this, though. There are too many Saints who have become problem players. There is a discipline problem on this team, and... no joke here... I think the root of it is our senile owner. There's no one holding Payton and Loomis accountable for their mistakes, and the players sense that. Discipline starts at the very top of every organization. The Saints have tier two running the ship.

I think Cooks IS a high character guy. Everyone on the team who has said anything public yesterday or today about this has backed that up. I think the problem here isn't low character. The guy is really competitive and he thinks he should be the #1 option and be getting first looks.... he got passed up and his role became clearing out space for a better player. Of course he isn't happy about that.
