Here's a line from Underhill's article on today's practice:

quote:

PEAT WORK: With Armstead sidelined with a minor injury, Andrus Peat got a lot of work at left tackle. He's in much better shape than a year ago at this time, and appeared to perform well. His best moment might have come during a positional drill when he tossed rookie offensive lineman Ryker Mathews on his backside. It's an offensive lineman vs. another offensive lineman, but it showed Peat's strength.

He looked like he was enjoying his time at the resort.

That's definitely encouraging and I'm hoping Peat will start at G next to Armstead.

I was at the Greenbrier last year and am going in two weeks this year. Last year he was way overweight and I honestly thought he might have a stroke during the sprints at the end of practices. He was always dead last too by a large margin. He has to look better already because the bar is so low.

I totally agree.

I don't know what you saw as mediocre play when Peat switched to LG. The left side of the line was solidified when Peat stepped up. It was the right side of the line the looked mediocre during that portion of the season.

In the Falcons game, Peat and Armstead were blowing the Falcons off the line of scrimmage. He was playing fine at left guard until the back of his legs got rolled up on while at that position and he got nicked up. Of course, it was against the Falcons when he got injured.
