IT IS FINALLY HERE FELLOW WHO DATS!!!!! THE REGULAR SEASON AND MEANINGFUL FOOTBALL IS FINALLY BACK!!!!!
That's right... after a long 8 months since we were screwed out of our second Super Bowl berth... the New Orleans Saints are back on the field tonight to begin that hunt for glory again... opening the 2019 season on Monday Night Football
Unlike the defending Super Bowl champs, who don't play a 2018 playoff team until week 9... the Saints jump right into the fray immediately by hosting the defending AFC South Champs, the Houston Texans.
The Texans won the AFC South with an 11-5 record a season ago, but flamed out with a 21-7 loss to fellow AFC South member Indianapolis Colts in the Wild Card round. Much like the Saints... the Texans got caught up in the Miami Dolphins fire sale, acquiring OL Laremy Tunsil & former Saints WR Kenny Stills... but it all revolves around QB Deshaun Watson so the Saints D will have to be fully up to speed on the Cam Newton/Jameis Winston section of their playbook... hopefully the D gets off to a better start than they did last season, giving up 48 points to Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Bucs in week 1 last season
The offense... led by sure fire hall of fame QB Drew Brees, RB Alvin Kamara, & WR Michael Thomas... will just have to keep doing what they do, get yards and points nearly at will... having scored 30 points or more 10 times last season
But 1 thing I think shouldn't be overlooked... all 3 other NFC South teams lost yesterday and are 0-1
LET'S START THE SEASON OFF RIGHT AND TAKE A FULL GAME LEAD IN THE DIVISION AFTER JUST ONE WEEK!!!
The Saints are mostly healthy coming out of the preseason/training camp. DT Mario Edwards, Jr. & Sheldon Rankins are officially out of tonight's game while Craig Robertson is questionable with a hamstring injury and practiced on a limited basis all week last week
The Texans don't have anyone out for tonight's game... WR Keke Coutee is questionable with an ankle injury, OL Greg Mancz is also questionable with an ankle injury, OL Tytus Howard is questionable with a finger injury.
Uniforms: Finally have confirmation from Saints social media that it will be the mono-black look to open the season

Disappointed that we didn’t make color rush our main uniforms but let’s do this I guess...

6:10 just seems like such a weird time. Barely gives folks time to get home from work and get fed.

Yeh - I hate being the east coast of the double header. I have a jr. high basketball parent meeting at 6pm....needless to say my phone will be working and I will not be listening to the coach.
