The refs were inconsistent in their flag throwing. JG's push was equal to or less than what the 49ers WR did on their 2nd or 3rd TD (I can't remember which). If you are going to call it one way then you have to call it the other way. They both had their arms outstretched in pushing off against the defender. If anything there is supposed to be much more pushing allowed in a Hail Mary situation. Just my 2 cents.

This has been gone over 100 times. But you're right.

Jimmy's PI was in front of 2 refs each within 10-15 yards of looking right the frick at him.

thank you for your 2 cents though

It was just a good sell job. Jimmy pushed high on his pads, and the guy sold it. It was a gamble by him, really.

Calling OPI during that hail Mary was weak.

Is that ref gonna stand there and tell us that the only contact in that pile of outstretched arms was Graham's?

You're presentation is bad.

And you've strongly over valued yourself.

And because of that.

The ref was looking right at him. It was a push high on the pads, Cox flopped, it was almost too perfect of a sell job.

I can't fault them for calling that especially when they called Boldin for OPI earlier on a big play.

It was just another "Of course it's a OPI against the Saints" type of thing.

It was PI, and the call was correct. Doesn't matter if the dude flopped or not; JG clearly pushed off him. Sometimes you need to see past the fan bias and accept that a penalty against us was actually the correct one. And it doesn't matter how consistent or inconsistent they call a game, because there is never a game in which the refs see and call every single infraction that occurs.

Instead of bitching about a correct call, you need to focus more on the rookie style play of our fading QB this year along with the perpetual addiction of the defense giving up huge plays at the end of games.

If the script was flipped, and the same play happened with Boldin or Vernon Davis, would you be screaming for OPI?

And Jimmy's was on a Hail Mary versus Anquan's that was on an island in the endzone. One should get at least the same amount of leeway on a Hail Mary as one on one in the endzone.

I never said it wasn't. I'm just saying that if you are going to call it on JG on a Hail Mary then you surely have to call it on AB on a one-on-one in the endzone.

that's a terrible argument. and to even try to compare plays is weak.

this could be said for about 10% of plays in every game. we have certainly had our own fair share of penalties not get called in the past and even in this game, just as every other team has. your beef is with perfection, and there is no such thing. if this was a bad call, then you would have a platform; however, this call was correct and any other non calls during this or any other game are irrelevant.

Stupid QB play along with a defense consistently giving up huge plays lost this game. Leave the refs alone

The refs would have never EVER NEVER EVER NEVER NEVER have called defensive PI in that same spot...to decide the game in that fashion.

This is why it is frustrating to me that they called it on Jimmy.

so you saying it wasn't the right call or that all penalties are off the table when it's the last play of the game? If that's the case, we need to tee off on the final play in every game from here on out. Time to collect some bounties!

Can you name one other time that PI got called on a hail mary? Usually they keep their flags in their pockets. Thaaaaaaaaaaaaat is why it's frustrating that we actually got it called against us.
