fwiw-

Raiders K Sebastian Janikowski missed three field goals in what turned out to be a one-point Raiders loss to Arizona. Janikowski missed field goals of 41 and 58 yards, but the killer was missing a 32-yarder at the end. It was his first miss from inside 40 yards in more than three years (he had made 19 in a row from inside the 40). As if that wasn't bad enough, the former FSU kicker couldn't even be a stand-up guy and face the media. He left the rest of his teammates to talk while he left without speaking.

Henderson is money. He is so brilliant I think many Saints fans take him for granted. hope he continurs to have the health and the want to remain the voice of the Saints for years to come

I thought the same thing... bring Carney back as a consultant to Hartley.

I can always count on Henderson to deliver a well thought out, elegant analysis of the Saints.

Slightly off topic but I saw the name Russell Erxleben and decided to look him up and I found this little tidbit:

quote:

His first NFL game was a portent of his pro career. On September 2, 1979, the Saints and the archrival Atlanta Falcons went into overtime with the game tied 34-34. Midway through overtime, a snap went over Erxleben's head and rolled to the goal line. Erxleben picked the ball up and made a hurried chest pass. The pass was intercepted by Atlanta's James Mayberry at the 6-yard line, and he trotted into the end zone for a touchdown and a 40-34 Falcon victory.

And he was a 1st round pick

I'm glad I'm too young to know how bad we REALLY were back then

I'll never forget being at the 1982 season opener against the then St Louis Cardinals. Morten Andersen hurt himself on the opening kickoff and if I recall correctly, he never made it back into the game. I remember telling my brothers, "great, we found Russell Erxleben Jr."

Hartley got it together after the Tampa Bay game last year. I think that he'll do it again.

Damn, how could you not have heard of Russell Erxleben? I'm too young to remember but he is a Saints legend of suckage.
