"The sideline official reached for his flag, but he didn't pull it out," Saints wideout Michael Thomas said. "It looked like he was going to throw it, but another official came running in, and it was like he got intimidated."

In instances where a ref feels it's too close to call you see them sometimes defer to a ref with a better angle. What stinks the most about this to me is not that he blew such a ridiculously easy call, it is that he immediately ended any conversation by acting like he had some secret view that allowed only him to see what really happened.

Are these refs ever going to answer to this? the Galaraga perfect game ruining ump handled his mistake immediately in public view with class and dignity. No surprise this frick is staying silent.

Well, he will likely lose his job for it. And he should. You can’t let one ref influence what other refs saw. They all have to throw flags based on what they see.

Guess he didn’t get the memo

That ref wasn't telling the other one not to throw a flag. He was trying to get Sean Peyton to get off the field and away from the other ref.

He was doing both. Yelling at Payton to stay back and then he clapped his hands together and said something to the other ref. The other ref nods his head and appears to reply "Bang Bang" implying that the responsible official told him the hit was on time with the ball.

Good Lord you are terrible at this.

Wrong, there's an angle somewhere that clearly shows #60 ref telling the other not to pull it and then other one nodding and turning around.

I saw it too. Its all over twitter. The ref who played for LA and ATL actually went to throw the flag and #60 goes (kind of aggressively) toward him and tells him not to throw it.
