quite possibly cost us a chance to kick a fg at the end of the game. Its bullshite that the nfl puts the most important part of the game in the inept officials hands by taking away the coaches ability to challenge in the last 2 minutes. they either need to give back the timeout if a challenge occurs and the review team overturns the play or just keep the system the same for the full game.

I thought they gave it back?

Edit: They did

quote:

(1:43) (Shotgun) C.Kaepernick pass short left to A.Boldin to SF 28 for 6 yards (C.Lofton). Pass 5, YAC 1 The Replay Official challenged the pass completion ruling, and the play was REVERSED. (Shotgun) C.Kaepernick pass incomplete short left to A.Boldin (C.Lofton). The Saints called timeout, and the officals chose to REVIEW the play, with the result that the previous play was REVERSED. After the reversal, the Saints were given their timeout back.

We still had a timeout left on the final drive

Either way, that was pathetic on the refs part

I was surprised they gave it back. The crowd was too loud to understand what they were saying

This is the answer. The NFL rules make no sense too often. What is the reason a coach can't review in the last 2 minutes? Why was that rule created?

How else could the money hungry oligarchy that resides in shadows over the NFL rest assured that they can control the outcome of certain games?

So that a play can still be reviewed even if you are out of TOs or challenges late in the game when it's most important. The rule makes great sense. The execution is poor.
