I'm just so happy Grayson (QB) was an awesome 3rd round pick with Pro Bowl Potential.

He was the 3rd best qb in the draft and we only spent a 3rd on him. I say that was worth the risk. I could see complaining about a ton of our trash picks over the years, but drafting a Brees successor is a necessity.

I agree that I was really not high on this pick, but some had the dude as a fringe 1st rounder, so at that point, I understood the selection.

Agree Drake, wasted pick!! But we would have probably drafted another bust if we wouldn't have drafted Grayson.

Value pick for a future need. Sometimes the risk pays off sometimes not.

It was worth a shot. Every qb pick, even 1st overall picks, are more likely to fail than succeed. The way that you get one that is any good is that you increase your exposure to eventually get a decent one by taking an occasional shot. A 3rd round pick is a low cost for this.

Of all the picks that you can throw a hiss fit over, this is one of the sillier picks to do it for. The Jean-Baptiste pick and ones like it are the ones to get annoyed by.

And no this doesn't mean that I or he "loves Grayson." That kind of statement just make it seem like you are too slow or petty to pick up on even the most basic concepts.

Has he not improved over the last couple of years? How can you judge when we haven't seen him play.

You fricks complain about a "wasted" 3rd round pick on a QB flyer when we've wasted complete draft classes.

We also take comparatively WAY less QBs in the draft than the rest of the league. The people who bitch about this pick are absolutely fricking clueless

Tom Brady was a 6th round pick. The scouts saw potential. With a QB you are hoping to win the lottery. I would much rather them take shots in the 3rd than in the 1st like the fricking bears.

The pick was low success rate. As are most QB picks. Sometimes you just hope to get lucky.

the reason so many have trouble with the grayson pick wasn't the position, or draft round, but that they overhyped the living shite out of him when they drafted him. the used car salesman hype the saints put out about how frickin great he was and he will be the next hall of fame QB.

had they not overhyped him, and just said "we like him and it looks like he could become "a" starter in the nfl", then nobody would be looking back faulting the pick.

but when you sell it as "this guy is going to replace brees" then that is what we expect to see, at the very least a solid #2 QB minimum.

THAT is the only problem I had with the grayson pick, the bill of goods we were sold saying how earth shattering a player he was and will be.

Okay I understand that point of view, but to be fair that doesn't change Grayson's value. If the pick was reasonable then we should evaluate it as such.

If the Saint's over sold the pick (because they were nervous about being criticized or for whatever other reason) then that's a different argument. I think most would agree the saint's oversold Grayson to some degree.

However, it is hard to say given how we still have one of the best to ever play the game at QB. Grayson was never going to oust Brees.

I think the real problem people have is that the Saint's hyped him and there is nothing tangible for anyone to see yet.
