Given our ownership situation, who in the world are we going to get ? Who is running the team ? Mr. Benson Or the wife ? Nobody really knows the answer. Removing the GM and coach . Its a bad idea right now until ownership is more stable ? However, Rob Ryan needs to go home .

How has Loomis earned his keep? We've made bad decision after bad decision since 2011. Payton looks complacent and worn out here.

Sean Payton doesn't even live in Louisiana anymore. His personal life has completely changed since he first came to New Orleans. He was married when he started coaching the Saints, and was living in the New Orleans area. Nine years later, he doesn't even live in the state anymore, is divorced, and is dating a former supermodel. That last part isn't bad, but you have to wonder if his personal life changes have changed him as a coach as well.

I am looking at the Benson sports organization as a whole with Loomis as a part of it. Using recent transactions on the Pelicans side of the family include keeping Demps, firing Williams, and hiring Gentry. Those seem like reasonable decisions. Let's see how the transition to the post-Brees era plays out. I do think that it will be without Sean Payton.

I don't really know what to think about Loomis. I don't think he has been that involved in the personnel decisions. He just makes the money work. I think getting rid of him would just be for show and doesn't really fix any problem.

Not involved? He he makes all of the personnel decisions.

It can't get any worse. Since we will have the #1 draft pick, it's even more critical for it to happen immediately after the 16th game. Remember, you don't want this group to frick up the draft.

The entire organization is dysfunctional, from the strength and conditioning program to the equipment managers. (The design of our uniforms is among the worst in the League, the game jerseys look like high school "Practice" jerseys, the numerals are too small and they don't fit properly)

There needs to be a total house cleaning, but like what the OP referred to, when the owner is senile and he doesn't have a clue on what to do or who to hire to get the job done at a level that will, at minimum, produce NFC South Championships, you're screwed.

Oh yes, Ryan needs to go immediately. Just let Dennis Allen finish out the season as DC. Can't get much worse. I can't remember a team that gives up over 30 points in every game.

That change should have been made after last season, but here we go again with the ownership problem.

It's a crap shoot with nobody in charge at the top that's even remotely competent in their job..........

I think the Saints right now are dealing with a multitude of issues, some connected, some not:

1) The ship is rudderless. Mr. Benson has always been one of the more involved owners. With him getting older and dealing with the family crap, I'm not so sure who is calling the shots.

2) Loomis' role seems less and less certain. What exactly is he doing these days? Given he has a role with the Saints and a role with the Pelicans, is he spread too thin?

3) The amount of dead money we have is absurd.

4) The amount of money we have tied up in people who are not producing to the extent of their earnings (Brees, Byrd) is absurd. I love me some Brees, but no way is he worth what his cap number is.

5) Years of bad drafting - I think Ireland can fix this, but it will take time.

6) Coach. He brought us an NFC champ visit and a Super Bowl. I will forever love him for that. But, it's clear that something isn't right. Maybe he's bored, maybe he needs a new challenge, maybe his motivational tricks are no longer effective on this group, etc. I don't think he forgot how to coach, but the intangibles aren't there. Maybe a change of scenery would do good for him.

My thoughts as well. When there is turmoil at the top, it rolls downhill ...... just like shite.

What does the ownership situation have to do with firing or head coach who clearly doesn't give a frick anymore.

He's letting Brees get killed, his post game pressers are dog shite, he refuses to fire or call out any lower coaches, the list goes on and on

This is EXACTLY what I've been trying to tell everyone since the ownership control issue surfaced in January. It would have major implications later. Well that time is now. Tom Benson probably doesn't know what year this is. I don't buy the fabricated interview his TV ststion did with him to prove he has his mental faculties.

Given the situation, Payton and Loomis are running the show. They're the reason we're in this shape.
