How the frick can you be thrilled about a guy who is already PROJECTED to play safety because he's too fricking slow to play his position for his whole college career. How the frick does anyone know this guy can ever be a safety? Just because the guys you have SUCK doesn't mean you improved yourself buy getting a slow midget to go with them. Why the frick not trade down & get Sean Smith & William Moore. That way you improve your odds of getting a guy who will be your guy of the future by like at least 100%?

It's funny how at least half a dozen teams traded in this draft & the Browns managed to trade 3 times, but the Saints couldn't pull off a trade. That's right, we're still paying for the sins of trading for a-hole last year.

Im gonna go out on a limb and say that the player evaluators and coaching staff know a little more about Jenkins talent than you do.

Jenkins at 6' is not a midget. Smith at 6'3'' can't turn his hips well enough in the NFL to play corner so he'll end up moving to safety just like Jenkins. Moore has injury problems and had a bad senior year. The Saints got the best DB(a position of extreme need) in the draft according to everybody except for a few GM's on the Saints board.

Only a complete and utter moron would classify the #1 rated DB and undisputed first round talent as

a slow midget

They got the best Wide reciever a couple of years ago & they got the best Tight end last year & the best running back in 99 & Alex MOlden was a much better player than Eddie George etc.etc. etc.

I never come to this board and after reading this thread I can see I'm not missing anything. And I thought the rant was full of people who don't know what the hell they are talking about.

In all fairness, Gregg Williams wasn't on the staff then.

What the frick are you talking about? Meachem wasn't consider by anybody to be the best wide reciever. Shockey wasn't even drafted he was traded for. Nobody thought picking Molden over George was a good idea except Ditka.

This coming from a guy who wanted to draft Laurenitis and move Vilma out of position because "good players can play multiple positions". He also challenged the board as to why a good strong safety couldn't play free safety and vice versa.

Malcolm Jenkins is viewed by most as a free safety prospect. He played it some in college and he's likely going to play it from here on out. He has very good ball skills which we haven't had in a long time at that position. I don't know if it was a home run pick, but I'm very happy with it.
