Were we playing our hardest? Definitely. Did we allow a middling-at-best Falcons team to score 45 points on us in our own building? For sure.

Was this because we our attention was somewhere between 60 and 90 percent on the presidential debate? Absolutely.

Seriously, though, how are we supposed to stay with Atlanta’s speedy receivers when that debate is going commercial-free? There was no time to look away!

And when we weren’t watching the debate, we were checking our phones to see what Nate Silver was saying about the debate. Related note: we are all very worried about you, Nate Silver.

All of those defensive huddles you saw on the field? That was just us circling up to talk about Trump’s plan (or lack thereof, amirite?!) to defeat ISIS. Occasionally, we talked about Hillary’s dope red pantsuit, but there was definitely no football talk. Our country’s future is at stake here!

Look, it’s just one game. We’ll be fine, as long as we don’t have a game scheduled at the same time as the next debate. Let’s just take a look at the calendar here and… oh crap.

All the players must be for Trump. They were some of the Deplorables watching the debate and playing football.

Why?

Falcons are the exact definition of a middling-at-best team.

What does this mean?

we are not fine. we have structural issues starting at the top all the way down.

our owner is incapacitated and the GM has no pressure on him to change.

Loomis needs to go, his performance is a failure. The deals he has made are garbage.

WE ARE NOT FINE and we will not be fine for many years.

sorry, i'm just upset at the fact that i invest in this team and the problems run deep.

We have actually acquired some pretty nice young talent on this team. We're gonna have a top 3 receiving group within the next 2 years, if not by the end of this one.

Our offensive line has played extremely well with Armstead. Fairely has looked good, Robertson has looked great, Vaccaro is playing the best ball of his career.

Breaux, Williams, and Crawley look to be steals for how we got them.

We need a pass rusher in the draft and maybe even in FA. We need Kikaha to be a situational pass rusher for depth. We're not that far off talent wise on defense. Just a MLB and maybe some S depth.

On offense, the only hole is RG. We have very versatile players in Kelemete and Tim, but their value is as a backup.

$30+ million in FA and another decent draft like the past 2 seasons (frick the Grayson pick), and this team is rebuilt.

I don't think you are watching the same games as I am. This team is bad. Truly bad. Lack of talent on defense and on the offensive line.

it did go over my head but i think it's just because i'm so frustrated by this team that i can't see the forest through the trees.

i'm not so sure the guys you are listed are the answer.

almost every person you mentioned is hurt. Injuries are part of the game, but the season is being played and we look really bad, Jason David bad, but it's everyone.

Vaccaro has played 2 games. if that's how we judge best games of his career, that's pretty sad.

IDK man, i like how you spell it out, but there are a lot of variables there that i do not see working out.

i'd like to see some front office changes. i can't imagine being the GM of an NFL team and an NBA team and being successful with either one. they are a full time job.

anyway,

Yea, we've lost 5 corners already and then had Vaccaro, he covers the slot a bit and plays the run, out last game.

This is past that kind of thing. Some freak injuries have just screwed us. 8 starters out in week 3 is ridiculous.

Breaux looked lock down. Williams looked great, especially being thrown in like he was, Crawley looked awful in game 1, but looks to be a very good player. Certainly good enough for CB3 or CB4

We haven't seen our 1st round DT yet. Fairely has played well. Davison (out vs the Falcons) has exceeded all expectations at DT, Robertson has been outstanding. Vaccaro having the best year of his career. John Jenkins is awful.

At receiver we have Cooks, Snead, and Thomas...that is going to be one of the better groups in the league for the next few years.

This is what all the dead money was committed too (outside of Jr.). One last rebuild effort. We can't whiff on free agency this year. I hope we go for 1 impact player (can get away with 2), and spend the rest on building depth across the board.

We've made them. Jeff Ireland has greatly improved our abysmal drafting already. This team has talent.

Our offensive line was lights out in the first 2 games...maybe the best in the NFL. They haven't been the issue this year, and have been dominant with Armstead, arguably the best LT in the league.

What player did I praise that you disagree with? Of course we look like we lack talent, we're young and down 8 starters.

These were the defensive "starters" out:

Breaux - CB
Williams - CB
Wilson - nickel
Vaccaro - safety/nickel
Rankins - DT (1st round)
Davison - DT
Ellerbe - LB
Kikaha - OLB/DE

I'm not even including Swann since I don't know his head status.

You don't think those are talented players?

He's back in his right spot at nickel and near the LoS.

He's disruptive in the running and passing game + he can blitz. We tried to force him into a cover role for some reason.

Defense is awful, offense could be among the best in the league. We'll see.

Also played 2 of the best offenses in the league.

Pretty meaningless at this point
