7 years 56 million?

8 million a year? Right around Reggie level salary.

A breakdown hasn't been published yet, it's right about the per year average Faneca got from the Jets, except that Evans is much, much younger

of course, as the reporter suggests, this was done to deflect attention away from "Vicodin-Gate"

Yeah, they would have never signed him otherwise.

The biggest problem is we can't frontload it at all because of the 30% bullshite rule. Was hoping we'd get a little bit of a deal, but $8m is right around market value, he probably wouldn't have gotten much more if he were a FA.

Yeah, just saw that on PFT. Thought it applied to all people under contract. Hopefully they took advantage.

That would be Benson stepping up like a fricking champ. That would put Evans at an average of $6m a year when the cap comes back, and I have a feeling his final year will be a hit of $12m+ that he'll be cut/renegotiate before he ever sees, so he'd be even lower.
