FH: Is it too early to get predictions out of you? Who do you think will play in the Super Bowl?

JE: There's always easy ways to go. I think New Orleans will be back, they still have the fire burning and I don't see too many people stopping them on the offensive side of the ball. The AFC side is a different look. Indy is the easy pick, but I think Baltimore is the most rounded football team and most physical football team, so I'm going to take Baltimore.

FH: Would you have enjoyed playing in an offense like the Saints have?

JE: Absolutely. I think Sean Payton is a great offensive mind and it's a great situation for Drew Brees. There's a guy, when you talk about physical talent that doesn't compare -- he can throw an accurate ball, but he physically doesn't have the stature of a lot of guys. But when you talk about a guy with all the intangibles, Drew Brees is a guy with those things that make you a winner.

It's not as though height is the end all be all to "physical" ability.

Outside of that, I'd put Brees's physical tools up against any QB in the league.

Height and speed are probably the only two things Drew isn't elite at. But that's not necessary obviously. And it's not like he's slow either. Just not fast.

it really amazes me how outright lazy the media is when it comes to the saints this season. No analysis for the most part, they just repeat super bowl hangover about 10 times.

I bet he's as fast as at least half the QBs in the league who routinely get labled "athletic" (read, black).

i would say athletically better than most...if your going with the "athletic" statement, then the only starters in the NFL that are "athletic" are d-nabb, jason cambell, garrard, and vince young

i wouldn't.

He doesn't have elite arm strength or athleticism either.

But, it can argued that he is the best QB.

What QBs have "elite athleticism"?

False. Brees is short but is a great athlete.

Sure seems that way to me. Just because a QB doesn't run around out of the pocket on a regular basis like a chicken with his head cut off, doesn't necessarily mean he's not "athletic."

He can fricking dunk! At barely 6' tall I would say that is quite athletic...

Love Elway - my favorite QB of all time. I agree with the posters in this thread who are saying Brees is an underrated athlete. He's an incredible athlete and if he wasn't such a great QB with such an incredible understand of offense v's defense I'm sure he'd have a few hundred rushing yards a year.

He's so damn good at QBing that he almost never has to run.

Tavaris Jackson, Michael Vick, Drew Brees, maybe Trent Edwards, Tony Romo.

I'd say Brees is the best all around athlete among that group - maybe Romo 2nd.

he has a strong, but not elite arm. he's one of the top 2-3 accurate passers as well.

He moves in the pocket better than probably 2/3 of the QB's, he's definitely an above average athlete.

If he was simply 6'3, he'd be looked at as a guy who "has all the tools".

Agree. When people talk about mobile quarterbacks they usually mean guys who can sprint 40 yards for a TD ala Mike Vick. Brees the most underrated mobile QB in memory. He moves from side to side away from pressure while keeping the passing play alive better than any QB I've ever seen (not exaggerating).

He beat Andy Roddick in tennis. He's barely 6 foot and can dunk a basketball. He homers from both sides of the plate in charity softball games.

He's a great athlete.
