Stephone Anthony has maybe the most to gain from this.

Saints FO must feel pretty confident with Robertson, Klein, Anzalone, Anthony, etc.

It sucks too because when Ellerbe was on he was a huge difference maker

Kind of reminds me of Bob Sanders from Indy

no question. This seems like a "time to move on" decision.

The Saints will waive him and he'll sign with Baltimore and play healthy for the next eight years.

got this at the end of the article I read,

quote:

The Saints also signed third-year player Kristjan Sokoli on Tuesday, according to his agent, Brett Tessler, on Twitter. Sokoli, 25, spent the past two years with the Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts, appearing in just one game. He has primarily played on the defensive line, but the Saints plan to convert the 6-foot-5, 300-pounder to the offensive line.

Anyone know anythimg about this guy, other than his one game career?

Good Lord, this dude can literally break his ankle just running out of the tunnel. Hate it for him but he has got to be the unluckiest, accident prone SOB ive ever seen.

Kristjan Sokoli (DT)

POSITION: DT
SCHOOL: Buffalo
Overview
Sokoli was born in Albania and moved to the U.S. when he was nine years old. He played defensive end, tight end, left tackle, punter and kicker in high school.

Pro Day Results

40-yard dash: 4.84 and 4.88 seconds
Vertical: 38 inches
Broad: 9 feet, 11 inches
Short shuttle: 4.36 seconds
3-cone: 7.25 seconds
Bench: 31 reps of 225 pounds

SELECTED BY: Seahawks
ROUND: 6
PICK (OVERALL): 38 (214)
PICK ANALYSIS:
ANALYSIS

Strengths
Extremely athletic test scores for his size. Impressive 38-inch vertical leap with 31 bench-press reps. Has good size and length and enough power to hold the point of attack if moved outside. Good motor and willing to pursue with consistency. Usually plays with desired leverage.

Weaknesses
Played out of position at nose tackle. Test scores don't necessarily match what is on tape. Can be rolled against double teams. Very average quickness off snap and won't make a living in the gaps. When pass rush stalls, doesn't show off many counters.

Draft Projection
Undrafted

Bottom Line
Athletic frame on a natural 5-technique who was forced inside into a nose spot in Buffalo. He plays with good arm extension and strength, but pass rushing is limited and will have to prove he can unlock explosiveness that his pro day unearthed.

Good coaching will fix most of those negatives.

It sucks because this dude can ball, but there comes a point where you just can't build a roster correctly when you have a guy who should be a starter but is never healthy. It's the right move. Hope the guy can get healthy and do something elsewhere.

Also finally signed a Butler DB

Saints sign offensive lineman Martin Wallace, defensive back Dejaun Butler

Butler is an undrafted rookie who worked out for the Saints during rookie minicamp as well as mandatory minicamp. He played cornerback at Hawaii.

The Butler signing was official as of Tuesday evening as it was listed on the NFL's transaction wire.

non football related injury i believe and its been quietly known about that he was recovering from something. Wasn't exactly sure if he was going to miss camp or not previously.

It's a shame because the guy can play football, not just be an athletic freak with a helmet. His body will simply not put up with the physicality.

This dude must be the most injury prone player in the history of league. Dude is made of paper.
