Top 3 NFC Jersey sales are RGIII, Eli Manning, Rodgers
If you keep going then it goes Cam Newton, Drew Brees, Tony Romo..... So Ryan got in on stats then not popularity

He didn't deserve probowl imo. It's not even snub.

Turnovers turnovers turnovers. How many times have you heard coaches and players point at it as the most important stat.

Drew Brees did not protect the ball well this year. He threw alot of picks, some tipped yes, but also alot of bad interceptions on his part. The 49ers one before half sticks out in my mind.

Was he in an impossible situation? Perhaps. I don't think they award things based on coulda shoulda woulda though unfortunately.

Did he throw for a whole lotta yards and td's? yea, but as I said in another thread,

If you take the ten nearest players in yards and td's, drew brees blows all of them away in the int category. The only person that made close to as many mistakes with the ball was the rookie andrew luck.

Plus our team has a losing record. If you get all the glory when your team is doing well, you have to equally eat it when the team performs lackluster. It comes with the position.

I'm suprised you all are suprised

Drew didn't even make the "should have made it" list! That game with all the interceptions was ugly enough to bring him to his knees. The decision was based on one game (or two), I think.
Thanks Roger you pos.

Sorry bro. It's been a tough season and your recent cockiness has gotten on my nerves. Not that you don't deserve to be after the season that the falcons have had, I am just a bit cranky.

'Tis all good. Apologies for being smug - the season my Dirty Birds have had has gone to my brain!

ETA: It's all for not if they don't win a friggin playoff game anyways.

He had a 5 interceptions in one game.

All 3 have better passer ratings and better team records.

The bias on this board is incredible. I'm a saints die hard and I can see through my black and gold glasses that, even though Brees is the greatest thing to EVER happen to this franchise, he cost games this year by turning the ball over, especially in a HUGE game against Atlanta.

Ryan, Rodgers, and RG3 all have better numbers than Brees.

5k and 40+ is all he has working for him, and there is a lot more that goes into it than that.

How about passer rating, interceptions, Completion Pct, anything of that sort.

To his benefit quite a few of his int's were tips and deflections. He also had more dropped balls than any other QB. It all adds up...just sayin'

I agree but the same is true for most qb's. (the tipped balls to int part) The thing is, I definitely noticed a difference this year when watching the games as a saints fan.

In years past; if drew loaded up and threw the ball off-screen (if im watching on tv), I would be cheering before I even saw the completion.

This year; I was always nervous he was gonna throw a int.

I truly think he lost some of his arm this year. I feel like he threw behind guys on crossing route more than not, and he almost never fully led guys on deep passes.

On the flip side, I still think he is the commander and heart of this team, and is not replaceable yet. He probably still has 2 more seasons at a elite level. Even then, I see him playing here for 5 more seasons.

I think he'll bounce back hard next year with CSP back. I feel like Pete is good at calling plays but CSP was a master at calling plays that are in line with our strengths on a particular day.

ok I'm ranting now, I'll stop

Some people are a little ridiculous on here with putting down Brees. Yes he had an off year but most of his years in New Orleans has been MVP material. Let's look at some stats:

Brees
2nd in Attempts
4th in Completions
12th in % completions
9th in passer rating @ 94.9
1st in yards
1st in TD's
1st-tied in int
Team Scoring- 3rd @ 28.2pts a game

His rating is actually pretty descent/good and the only thing that is bad is obviously the interceptions in which 26% of them came in one game.

Ok let's look at the defense:

32nd in total yards allowed
31st against the pass
29th against the rush
28th in scoring @ 27.3pts a game

I think just looking at these stats will tell you why we are 7-8 this year. It's pretty obvious.

those are not the same stats that the probowl was voted upon.

He got a nice cushion from the last couple of weeks that he didnt have at the time of voting

Is this supposed to make his int stat better or worse? The fact that he threw 5 in a game is worse than throwing 2 in 3 games for 6 total imo.

ETA: I think it's pretty clear why he didn't make probowl.

I think you guys don't realize that it is possible to have a decent season and not make it. Drew didn't deserve it this year and you don't and shouldn't get brownie points from past years so whether or not he's had other great seasons is irrelevant.

I don't think anyone seriously is arguing that drew is trash or putting hi down big time, just pointing out why he didn't make probowl

RGIII over Brees is a joke.

Next year, RGIII won't be able to run a college offense all year long and will get exposed just as Cam Newton did this year.

So tired of ESPN salivating over Griffin. Absolute joke.
