Interesting. Surprised with our rank. Draft is a crapshoot. It's not that the Saints are so horrible at it. Although of late, it's been pretty bad

...but that 06 draft was insane, abnormal good. 2 big hits in the 7th round.

The problem is pretty much just the 2014 being so terrible, and not having any picks in 2012 that makes it look like we suck at drafting.

Until now, all the numbers we’ve used showed players’ value to the teams that drafted them. But sometimes, a washout with one team becomes a superstar with another. Here are the 10 players whose total career values most drastically eclipsed their values to the teams that drafted them. Sadly, none played for Cleveland.

interesting that three of the players from that list ended up being big time players for the Saints.

God, forgot how disruptive La'Roi Glover was.. remember that monster year he had in 2000? Sure would be nice to have a force like that on the line again.

What that tells me, reviewing all those picks, is that the draft is pretty worthless.

the more ya see n know the more ya realize how unpredictable it is. Give the NFL a lot of credit for developing a cottage industry and message boards full of chatter over such a fickle event.

Its actually much better than it used to be.

Remember a few years ago when Bradford, Russell, etc... were getting $50 mil guaranteed with a much lower salary cap?? Drafting high could set your franchise back years! Now at least you don't have to break the bank to sign them.

the contracts are better but 50% of 1st Rders barely stick on rosters or worse. Much more dart board than science IMO. Maybe it is the lesser % of "hits" that makes it compelling. Like baseball hitters being out 2/3 to 3/4 of the time.

Yes, and this is why you don't fall in love with college players. Let the draft come to you and take the BPA on your board.

All i was saying is that at least the NFL reeled in some of the risk by making college kids earn their pay days.
