I’m on the train that if he doesn’t make the playoffs he needs to be replaced.

Seems like an easy metric to me. What say you?

He has 2 seasons left. (Loomis will give him 3 years) If he doesn't make the playoffs in either season he should be fired immediately.

ETA. All these downvotes. Is it bc I said 3 years? Bc if you think Loomis isn’t gonna give him this season and next you’re living in a dream world.

No. He has to be competitive, organized, and keep the team motivated. Lots of variable can affect playoff birth so it's not a do or die season for Allen.

I don’t think it’s quite playoffs or bust, but it’s close.

If we go 10-7 and miss the wildcard by a game, you can’t fire the coach barring some boneheaded decision or player mutiny.

That being said, the NFC South looks ripe for the Saints taking. Not winning the division and making the playoffs would be a letdown.

Personally, I want to see a team that doesn’t commit turnovers, have a ton of penalties, plays hard, plays smart and doesn’t lose games it shouldn’t lose.

If we can't make the playoffs in the weakest time of our division then yes.

I think with the pathetic (On paper) state of the NFC South, yes the Saints should be the favorite to win the division and thus make the playoffs.

A lot is going to hinge on the defense and how much losing the bulk of the D-line and in turn what they replace them with pans out.

The offense should be significantly better with Carr, and a healthy Thomas (Inshallah!) also finding another RB to help Willians while Kamara is suspended will be key.

Having said all that, I guarantee the F.O. does not see this as a playoff or bust for CDA.

Given his history, playoffs should be the barometer to keep his job; but as long as the team shows improvement they may be willing to give him another year.

He has his QB. He draft all defense players this year. He should win the division.

After the offseason they are currently having and being in a weak division? Yes, I think playoffs or bust is fair.

This season is likely the weakest the NFCS will ever be under his watch.

If he doesn't win the division this year, he should be fired. This is the worst division in football and we are light years ahead of any oter team in the South.

If this org is going to keep short term patching the boat, then yes.

Otherwise we will just sit in this perpetual limbo of being around 0.500 every year.

Given the additions they've made to this roster, if he can't make it work...in this sorry arse division...then he should probably go.

Not necessarily

Win division - He good
Make playoffs - He good
Finish Better than last year but miss playoffs - Probably good
Equal last year and miss playoffs - 50/50
regress from last year - He gone.

From a fans perspective, yes.

And from a fans perspective, he needs to be fired if he does not win an easy division.

Only one team is getting in from the NFC South.

The fan base will have to bring the pressure to replace him if he fails.

2025 is the soonest that the Saints can get out of Carr's contract

They will have until then to fix it. Hopefully they do

If not, They will both go after 24
