In terms of a first round bye? Or, can they rest their starters and give us a lower draft pick?

They are playing for a bye. Maybe we should do ourselves a favor and let them do what they want next week

Or maybe we can go out and beat them and cause them worse playoff position. I don't care about draft position when it comes to beating Atlanta.

So you hate the falcons more than you like the saints?

No but I hate the falcons more than having a better pick by maybe 1 or 2 spots at best.

I want to win this game.

I agree 100%

frick Atlanta

We already did them a favor and clinched the division for them yesterday

Let's make them frickers play a wildcard game

how many top 10 picks become absolute studs vs the rest of the draft? i never understand people melting over not getting in the top 10 when the entire first round is full of explosive players.

do people believe there are only 10 playmakers in all of college football right now?

Or, the Saints make them get a lower seed and having to win an extra game to make the big dance. Falcons' tears are like rainbows and unicorns.

Why not make him cry, again:

The Saints have to learn how to draft before they worry about a few spots up or down.

In the 2015 draft, Danny Shelton was the guy Payton coveted at pick 13. Cleveland picked him at 12 so we had to settle for Project Peat with our 13th.

In the 2016 draft, Payton wanted a CB in the first round. Apple went to NYG at 10 and Vernon Hargreaves who Payton wanted, went to TB at pick 11. We drafted Rankins at 12 which seems to be working out for us.

So yes draft position in the first half of round 1 is very important. I say we should have tanked in the last 2 games to get a top 8-10 pick which would be greater odds of getting the guy we want without trading up versus picking in our standard 12-13th pick and settling for best available.

Your point is invalid though because both of those picks are paying dividends for us now.

We have had higher draft picks in the Payton era that have produced less... so...

This whole thread makes my dick hard.

FALCONS ALL UP IN THEM PLAYOFFS! Play whomever you want this coming week, it won't matter. Falcons are motivated right now to get that Bye.

Sweet dreams, Saints. 3 straight losing seasons is near.

Atlanta does not have tiebreaker over Seattle, Det, or GB.

Det and GB play head to head. Atlanta has to play and has to win this Sunday for that bye.

I say frick em. Sean has my permission to treat this like a preseason game. Every 4th down and short he can go for it. Every PAT can be a 2Pt'er. Yes this game will be the only Saints game that has brought me joy this year.

Atlanta cant handle going on the road or homefield...so in actuality we are only playing to beat them head to head.

I would like to think we could be the beginning of their own playoff implosion but I think we would be taking too much credit.

Matty Ice will rear his ugly head and do it all on his own with the game on the line.

true

not true

But I agree, Seattle plays SF so that's a Win for them. ATL virtually must win to keep the #2 spot unless somehow SF beats SEA.

I was referencing tiebreaker in terms of controlling your own destiny if you did not play to win on Sunday.

Seeding is determined by division and conference records first?

If Atl did not play to win and lost to the Saints

GB would have the same conference record and a better division record winning the 2nd seed

Det would have same division and same conference record leaving the 3rd tie breaker scenario to determine seeds.(something do with records of opponents not sure who wins that one in this situation)

If Atl plays and wins it wont matter they would have the better record.

Even if the Saints beat the Falcons, they can still get a bye with a Packers & 49ers win
