didn't look like a disorganized mess like under slobbo robbo, but of course none of that was his fault....

Dline was great and had good pressure(2 sacks and Rankins would had at least 1 if not for a hold) LBers looked very good with nice technique/coverage

If I had to put it in numbers...we looked like a 14th-16th ranked defense in the NFL today.

Well they weren't (or didn't look like) the Swiss cheese of old so that's an improvement

People were in good position to make plays

And they also were up against some scrub qb also.

That and Pats were without their best WRs and TEs. Still it was better than last year.

I know that halfway through the quarter we had allowed around 2 yards. Pats scored a defensive TD which took a possession away, but they had two 3 and outs outside of that. Starters did great.

My biggest worry about this defense was RDE, and Edabali was probably our best defender of the night.

Corners didn't allow much to the WR's outside of one Mitchell 25 yard play (pretty sure it was on either Harris or Crawley). Everything came from the RBs or TEs.

Saw interior pressure for the first time since the Lunch Bunch era.

Vaccaro had a nice play in coverage. People forget how good he was as a slot CB his rookie season (in part because he sucked so bad S2).

Again, all of this is just preseason tomfoolery, but if you're not a little bit excited about the defense, then you suck cock by choice.

And we were without two of our top 3 defenders. Maybe 3 of our top 3 defenders if Lewis comes back and plays well.

Defense looked much improved from last year. If this is what we will see during regular season we will win some games. Just said on tv, 1st and second team only gave up 9 points.
