In the modern era NFL? Sure, I'll give you that one. Hard to beat the Dome Patrol in the 90s.

None better than the Dome Patrol. Next tier has to be Davis, and Vilma.

Nah. You’re just looking back with the eyes of nostalgia. Demario Davis is the best linebacker the saints have ever had. He’s all over the field. Literally never misses a tackle.

That screen play that he blew up when he was supposed to be blitzing was just a thing of beauty!

Best “all around” LB the saints have ever had. Who individually was better? The dome patrol as a whole was great and the best group of backers, but none of Swilling, Mills, Johnson or Jackson was better as 1.

Rickey Jackson has entered the chat.

Yes he is, and his longevity has been a big bonus.
He's always in position, smart as hell, and makes tackles. Blowing up that screen play was a thing of beauty.

At 34 years old, he's about to have one of the best seasons of his career. He should finish with about 115 tackles, 7 sacks, 12 QB hits, 10 TFL, and a FF. Crazy.

I agree. He has played at or near an all pro level every year for the saints, often with no running mate.
I’m not sure any LBer is asked to do more for his team.
Davis is front and center with cam Jordan for guys hurt the most by the no call and no ring.
Give Davis a Super Bowl ring and his legacy is an all pro MLB in the middle of a championship team.

Did he ever have a night club in New Orleans East?
That should be the tiebreaker if you think he’s equal to RJ57.
